I wouldn't say it was a relief to leave Spurs but it was clear I had to. It was a difficult time.
I had a great time at Spurs and made lots of friends, and learned lots of things - perhaps even more off the pitch than on the pitch from my family at Spurs, and I will miss everyone.
Too many poets write poems which are only difficult on the surface, difficult because the dramatic situation is easily misunderstood. It's not difficult to write poems that are misunderstood. A drunk, a three-year-old-they are easily misunderstood. What is difficult is being clear and mysterious at the same time. The dramatic situation needs to be as clear in a poem as it is in a piece of good journalism. The why is part of the mystery, but the who, what, where, and when should all be understood.
I still bump into Spurs fans who say: 'Why did you have to go?' I say back: 'What more could I have done?' I talk to them and I think they appreciate I had good reasons.
I chose Spurs and I think it's turned out well. I felt I was joining a great team, with great plans and the personal chats I had with people at Spurs were great.
I enjoyed my time at White Hart Lane, and I can't say thank you enough to the Spurs fans.
I always say I enjoyed my time at Spurs and I improved as a player so I don't look back and think 'what if?'
For me, it was clear from the beginning that I wanted to go to Spurs.
If anyone has to leave their homeland by boat, they all have difficult stories. But my parents had a difficult journey, and their story always seems like a movie to me.
I was disappointed to leave Spurs, but quite pleased that I did.
People say I've had a difficult time in life. I think I've had an exciting time in life.
But I MUST say what I feel and think in some way — it is such a relief! But the effort is getting to be greater than the relief.
As I flew back from New Zealand to bury my mother, it occurred to me that no matter how harrowing her loss was and how keenly it will always be felt, there was, nevertheless, a sense of relief that my father, sisters and I could say a final goodbye after the longest goodbye and relief that my mum had finally been released.
I scored eight goals in 12 games against Spurs. I'm proud of this achievement because I know this rivalry is very important for the Arsenal fans - when you score eight times against Spurs you are an idol for them. And I know the Spurs fans hate me. I know this and it is a good sensation.
A lot of the time at Spurs, I was fitting in around other people, letting the likes of Luka Modric go and do what they wanted to so I had to be the disciplined one.
There's the tradition of the 19th-century ballets, and the 20th century has had a difficult time with that tradition. And it's had a difficult time with many components of the Romantic imagination because of modernism.
I initially found it difficult with my role as a substitute, sometimes sitting in the stands at Spurs, but I learned to deal with it.
