A Quote by Paulo Coelho

Following fashion trends, however ridiculous or uncomfortable. — © Paulo Coelho
Following fashion trends, however ridiculous or uncomfortable.
Style is anti-fashion; it's not about following trends.
If I was a fashion designer just following trends or designing for celebrities, I would not be fulfilled.
For anyone of a rational disposition, fashion is often nearly impossible to fathom. Throughout many periods of history – perhaps most – it can seem as if the whole impulse of fashion has been to look maximally ridiculous. If one could be maximally uncomfortable as well, the triumph was all the greater.
Embrace yourself and do what you can to look and feel your best. Don't put on so many fashion trends that create a ridiculous style statement. Pick and choose what feels good, and flatters your own body.
Follow sound business trends, not fashion trends.

I know in fashion what's new is old and trends repeat but the 90's trends ala '90210' aren't exactly styles I'd want to wear today.
I would never want to model as my career, but fashion is my hobby. When you love what you're wearing, you feel good. I also love the extravagance of John Galliano for a big occasion. But I'm very bad with following trends.
As far as things I avoid, I always avoid following trends just because they're trends.
Fashion is transient, trends come and go. I believe in style, not fashion.
If you look back in history of the women who are most memorable and most stylish, they were never the followers of fashion. They were the ones who were unique in their style, breakers of the rules. They were authentic, genuine, original. They were not following the trends.
Amidst globalisation, trends are becoming worldwide, so it's important to take a unique approach to what fashion has to offer. Be yourself in the middle of it all; fashion shouldn't be 'try hard.'
When I came overseas, I realized that there are many ideologies and many trends, and it's also very hard to produce honest art and honest literature. I decided that I didn't want to follow any of these ideologies or trends, because that's also a kind of pressure that doesn't allow absolute freedom. So I decided that I was only going to produce works that were satisfactory to me, and that meant not following any trends and being anti-ideological.
Young people, however, tend to ignore the customs of their elders. Adolescent rebellion has been responsible for all manner of absurd costumes. The more ridiculous a certain fashion is, the more adolescents will cling to it.
No two days are ever the same, but usually I wake up and immediately check out what's happening online in the fashion world. Doing so inspires me to create and shape my own fashion trends.
I don't try to be in fashion; I don't try to follow trends. You just end up out of fashion that way.
