I've got loads of ideas swimming round, and I've even organised them in a nice folder on me computer.
I'm always writing ideas down and then I stick em in my pocket and put em in that folder so I don't lose them. Like, somebody might say something, and I'll go, oh that's a good line, and that goes in the folder, too. It's kind of an ongoing process for me.
A lot of the time, you need to find the right home for ideas. You know, sometimes you think 'oh this'd be a sitcom, oh, no it wouldn't, it'd be a drama, or an educational thing, or a doco or something.' I've got loads of ideas and you just have to keep sending them and pitching them.
I've got loads of ideas. I just have no idea what to do with those ideas
But I don't believe in organised politics, organised religion, organised music, organised anything.
When you see the American chat shows, they've got so many ideas about what they could with the guests. I did stand-up on 'Jimmy Fallon' and they had loads of sketches and ideas, we don't tend to do that here.
I got a phone call from George Miller [the director] asking me to play this role. We sat down and he showed me on his computer a documentary-type montage sequence of real penguins swimming, in an Esther Williams synchronized sort of way, and doing things I have never seen them do. Then he explained his vision of the film, asked me to read the script and to voice the character. I was cast a little bit later, and he let me do the singing as well!
After you do a showcase for agency managers and casting directors and you get this folder and some people had a folder that was thick and some people had a folder that was thin. And there's no fairness to it because it's not a fair business.
Do you know what, the reason I haven't worked loads and loads is because I got so lucky working on 'Popworld' and T4. They were such unique pieces of telly, so I got really spoiled.
I have a folder in my office with about 400 ideas in it. So it will take me another 40 years to get through those.
The computer allows me to execute my ideas at the speed I think them.
I love swimming, swimming's my passion and I hope I swim until the last day of my life, so I really, really do enjoy swimming, but swimming for me is simply a way of carrying a message.
I wouldn't say I was organised at all. I just have to prioritise. Is it more important for them to be organised, or to have their dinner, do you know what I mean?
I never went round to loads of managers saying 'this is what I have, this is my product and I'm going to be famous so you'd better sign me up.' They came to me.
Game ideas on Kickstarter have found loads of success, even when they're not as unusual as 'BlindSide.'
The musical era depicted in 'Round and Round' may not be pop's brightest moment, but rather than abandon its ideas, Ariel Pink reclaims them for himself and holds on tight.
Everyone's computer, mobile phone or music-listening device should have a folder in my name with 100 songs.
