I make no apologies for not being very outdoorsy and for not really enjoying the cold. — © Rachel Campos-Duffy
I make no apologies for not being very outdoorsy and for not really enjoying the cold.
Maybe sometimes I don't look like that I'm really enjoying being on the court and playing tennis, but inside, I'm really enjoying it.
We live in an age of apologies. Apologies, fake or true, are expected from the descendants of empire builders, slave owners and persecutors of heretics, and from men who -in our eyes- just got it all wrong. So, with the age of 85 coming up shortly, I want to make an apology. It appears I must apologize for being male, white, and European.
I make no apologies for being reasonable.
I make no apologies for being a huge fan of radio songs.
I've never really been concerned about being typecast, for me it's just about enjoying my work and being very professional in taking things on.
The Caribbean has had a big impact on me. It's very outdoorsy, people don't really spend a lot of time indoors. There's so much light and sunshine.
Skating is a sport that I found a lot of interest in from a very, very young age. Ultimately, I think that being on the ice, being in the cold, and trying things and challenging myself in different ways is something that made me really interested in skating.
I'm not really very ambitious. I'm more interested in enjoying my life and looking after my family than being hugely successful.
I think I'm teaching my teammates that they can still be successful while having fun and enjoying the moment rather than being a stone cold brick.
It's a fine balance for an athlete in enjoying the moment and being really satisfied, say, with a run, and with your day, and knowing you can make it better in the future.
That's what I did growing up. Other than being on the computer, I was watching TV and movies. I make no apologies.
There's only one critic whose opinion I really value, in the final analysis: Johnny Carson. I have never needed any entourage standing around bolstering my ego. I'm secure. I know exactly who and what I am. I don't need to be told. I make no apologies for being the way I am.
It is said that insincere apologies can be detected while heart-felt apologies melt away all grievances, anger and hatred. Felt with all my heart I'm sooo sorry Apologies Sorry Soz so so So Sorry
Being cold is not debilitating. We learned that from the Eskimos. They could be cold, and they could function. And you could function better when you're cold than when you're hot. I mean, hot, you become overheated, and, you know, you lose energy. If you're cold, you could function being cold. Now, frozen is different.
I do not make any apologies for my manner or personality. I come from a long line of very strong, black African-American women who neither bend nor bow. I haven't had very good modeling in submission.
I think it's really important to be outdoorsy.
