I like to do things where you do learn something and go on a journey, such as 'Strictly Come Dancing.'
There's something about 'Strictly Come Dancing.' Everywhere I go, people wish me good luck; cabbies toot their horns. It's lovely. I have a theory: in straitened times, there's nothing like a bit of unapologetic escapism.
I've been offered all the usual, 'Strictly Come Dancing' and the like, but the one thing I know is that for me to be good, I've got to absolutely love doing something. And you can't dance the foxtrot half-hearted.
Something like going onto 'Strictly Come Dancing' took me about two nanoseconds to decide to do whereas Si emphatically wouldn't do it. He hates group activities. He's quite a complicated person.
I really don't have an interest in it and people think I'm a freak because I'm not obsessed by 'Strictly Come Dancing' but it just doesn't appeal to me. I'm really sorry but I can't get into it. You get treated like a complete pariah if you don't like things like that!
You just pray that something is going to hit you like lightning. Like a movie, a book, or a photograph, a painting, something that you can riff on it and learn more about it and explore it, and just go on a journey with it. So lots of times when I choose a theme, I'll also incorporate other things that I'm doing at that period.
I did have to turn down things in the past, which I was upset about sometimes, but I understood I was part of 'Strictly Come Dancing.'
I never imagined 'Catwoman' would be part of my 'Strictly Come Dancing' journey. But when I turned up to the first of my top secret meetings about joining the show in April, that was the codename I had to whisper to hotel staff, just in case anyone found out that I was set to be a part of it.
I've had four fantastic years on 'Strictly Come Dancing,' but for us it's about moving forward and the end goal is to present a shiny-floored Saturday night TV show that we all love, for example, 'Strictly,' 'Britain's Got Talent' - those sort of shows.
All things journey: sun and moon, Morning, noon, and afternoon, Night and all her stars; 'Twixt the east and western bars Round they journey, Come and go! We go with them!
I definitely want to do 'Strictly Come Dancing.'
I am used to looking good. In a way, if I thought I looked like the back end of a bus, I probably wouldn't have done 'Strictly Come Dancing' and gone out there in public.
I'd like to do 'Strictly' because you learn something.
Having been part of this wonderful show ever since series one, I know all too well what it's like to perform to the nation on the famous 'Strictly Come Dancing' dancefloor.
I'm asked to do 'Strictly Come Dancing' on a regular basis, but I always say no.
I have had the accomplishment of something like this at heart ever since I was a boy.... So I feel tonight like the man who is lodging happily in the inn which lies half way along the journey and that in time, with a fresh impulse, we shall go the rest of the journey and sleep at the journey's end like men with a quiet conscience.
Everything I do seems to get so much attention since 'Strictly Come Dancing.'
