I was fortunate to work with some of the talented filmmakers of our industry. In addition, one film leads to another. As a newcomer, I explored those opportunities.
I just think that I was very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with some very fine filmmakers in the industry. I worked with some wonderful people on some really interesting projects. So I consider myself very fortunate.
I've been fortunate to work with some amazing Asian filmmakers in independent film.
I think 'Happy Days' was huge and an unexpected high point of my career. I was a newcomer at that time, and I was fortunate to get such a role in the film. 'Paiyya' was another highpoint, as it opened up Kollywood for me.
When filmmakers are kept from making films, there's a lot of different reasons why. Sometimes you work on a film and cast it and do all the work and can be just a month away from shooting, and all of a sudden, the whole thing goes up in smoke. But I do think the advent of a digital revolution is going to provide people with opportunities to make films that they never would have had before. I think you can do some pretty credible stuff now with very, very little money. Which I think is great for young filmmakers.
I get to work with incredibly talented young filmmakers and students, and their attitudes and relationship with film is still so pure. That re-inspires me and reminds me why I got into it and what I love about film, and allows me a little reprieve from the business side of it. And it rekindles my love of film.
I can't pick one film industry over another because work is work. Actresses are targeted when say prefer one industry over another.
It's about supporting the many talented artists and filmmakers out there trying to create work from that marginalized point of view. Go out and buy tickets to their movies and plays, support their crowd sourcing campaigns, show the industry that there is a viable audience for this work.
It's so hard to get into this industry. There are so many people who are so talented, and they never get those opportunities.
I am thankful to all those who gave me opportunities in the film industry.
As a newcomer in the industry, it was my dream to work with Karan Johar.
Enjoying outdoor recreation is not only good for physical health, but also for improving mental health, and I encourage everyone to explore some of the beautiful opportunities our state has to offer, particularly at those smaller, less explored state parks.
I think everyone respects Rock. He's obviously been in our industry his entire life in some form or fashion. He's a guy that works really hard, and most of our performers can appreciate that one way or another, whether it's in the movie industry or our industry.
I sing when both directors and producers compel me. I'd rather give that opportunity to a gifted newcomer, to whom it makes a huge difference. There are a lot of talented youngsters out there, who can do with such opportunities. Helping them matters to me more than my singing.
There are few teachers from the film industry to guide newcomers. One can see a gap between the film industry and those teaching at film schools.
I don't try to make a place in history at all! People put me in the history of cinema because my first film, La pointe-courte, was so ahead of some other filmmakers. Many filmmakers have made resurgent work, and I was just a little ahead of the time.
I work with amazing organisations: I work with I'm A Performer With Disability, and I work with a clinic which tries to get opportunities for people with disabilities to work in the film and TV industry, and we're making strides, and they're making strides.
