Suffering turns men towards their creator.
What is here a right towards men, is a duty towards the Creator.
The pragmatist turns away from abstraction and insufficiency, from verbal solutions, from bad a priori reasons, from fixed principles, closed systems, and pretended absolutes and origins. He turns toward concreteness and adequacy, towards facts, towards action, and towards power.
Creating-that is the great salvation from suffering, and life's alleviation. But for the creator to appear, suffering itself is needed, and much transformation.
Creation is the great redemption from suffering and all life's growing light. But the creator must be suffering if needed and accept much change.

Thus the will to power strives towards oppositions, towards displeasure. There is a will to suffering at the foundation of all organic life (contrary to "happiness" as "goal").
The ground is holy, being even as it came from the Creator. Keep it, guard it, care for it, for it keeps men, guards men, cares for men. Destroy it and man is destroyed.
We must have a spirit of power towards the enemy, a spirit of love towards men, and a spirit of self-control towards ourselves.
