I don't enjoy doing over-the-top action entertainers.
When I was doing larger than life roles in action entertainers they weren't clicking.
I'll sing as long as I can because I enjoy doing that. I enjoy the fans and what I do. I love the traveling and the hotels and just seeing the world over and over again.
Forget being the best of anything. That's the fruit of the action, and you do the work -they say- for the doing, not the fruit. You can never really know how it's gonna turn out in the world but you know if you enjoy doing it. And ideas start flowing and you start getting, you know, excited about stuff. Then you're having a great time in the doing and that's what it's all about. If you don't enjoy the doing, then do something else.
I do enjoy doing action quite clearly, but I also really like doing comedy.
Doing your best is taking the action because you love it, not because you're expecting a reward. Most people do the exact opposite: They only take action when they expect a reward, and they don't enjoy the action. And that's the reason why they don't do their best.
There's absolutely no doubt that I enjoy doing romantic films more, and they've worked for me, too. But I love doing action as well.
I don't usually prefer over-the-top action.
Live-action has always been my focus and my passion. I love voice-over, and I definitely could see myself doing some voice-over, as much as I could, and even if I ended up doing only that for the rest of my life, and I could be successful at it, that would be great. But I think my real dream is to do films and live-action films.
If you're doing live-action, you have to learn how to actually do whatever it is that you're doing. If you're doing voice-over, you can fake it.
I enjoy doing digital work. I enjoy sculpting digitally. I've had my digital sculptures on covers of the top digital magazines.
I really enjoy doing the action stuff, but you have to be careful about who you say yes to with the action stuff 'cause some people want to do it but don't know how, and then it just becomes incredibly frustrating.
When I was, like, 16, I went in to the head of Disney, and I hadn't taken acting class really at all, and I didn't know what I was doing, and it was really embarrassing. Of course, you think Disney wants over-the-top and funny, and I was just trying to be over-the-top and funny, and it just wasn't working, and that was the worst.
The peace that comes with surrendered action turns to a sense of aliveness when you actually enjoy what you are doing.
I enjoy sometimes focusing on a character in a scene that's not actually doing the main action or the talking.
I try to stay away from stuff that's just action, action, action, action, action, and you kind of fast-forward through the dialogue scenes. I'm not interested in doing that. Give me a reason to fight, and I'll go there. But don't just make it, 'You touched my pen! Haaa-yah!' I've done that before.
I enjoy doing an action scene. I'm not a purist as far as films go. If you want to do sex, great. As long as you do it well.
