Advice is very easy to give, and even easier not to follow, so I don't fool with it.
I don't think I'd give advice. That never pays off. That's always a bad idea. If they follow your advice and it doesn't work out, or if they don't follow your advice, somehow you're on the hook for it.
Never follow anyone else’s path, unless you’re in the woods and you’re lost and you see a path and by all means you should follow that. Don’t give advice, it will come back and bite you in the ass. Don’t take anyone’s advice. So my advice to you is to be true to yourself and everything will be fine.
The best advice on the art of being happy is about as easy to follow as advice to be well when one is sick.
I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it.
It is easy for men to give advice, but difficult for one's self to follow; we have an example in physicians: for their patients they order a strict regime, for themselves, on going to bed, they do all that they have forbidden to others.
We must be very careful when we give advice to younger people; sometimes they follow it!
It's easy to give up. It's even easier to start pointing fingers.
I'm very wary about giving advice. I think it's very dangerous to give advice to people, except if you know them very well.
It is easier to give directions than advice, and more agreeable to have the right to act, even in a limited sphere, than the privilege to talk at large.
The first principle is that you must not fool yourself—and you are the easiest person to fool. So you have to be very careful about that. After you’ve not fooled yourself, it’s easy not to fool other scientists. You just have to be honest in a conventional way after that.
If the advice is simply to respect yourself and follow the path that you want to follow, that would be the best advice I could ever pass on.
Athos liked every one to exercise his own free-will. He never gave his advice before it was demanded and even then it must be demanded twice. "In general, people only ask for advice," he said "that they may not follow it or if they should follow it that they may have somebody to blame for having given it".
Be warned against all 'good' advice because 'good' advice is necessarily 'safe' advice, and though it will undoubtedly follow a sane pattern, it will very likely lead one into total sterility--one of the crushing problems of our time.
It is the part of a fool to give advice to others and not himself to be on his guard.
When I am performing, I try to follow the advice I give to my students. This can be very hard - I was never a good student and I find I'm no better when I am the teacher.
I'm always there to tell people that their life is not that bad. I wish it was easy to follow that advice.
