Let me tell you now a man of my position can afford to look ridiculous at any time. — © Randy Savage
Let me tell you now a man of my position can afford to look ridiculous at any time.
I am a ridiculous man. They call me a madman now. That would be a distinct rise in my social position were it not that they still regard me as being as ridiculous as ever.
On 'don't ask, don't tell' I was always the same. I said we needed a complete review of the impact on morale and battle effectiveness of 'don't ask, don't tell' before we repeal it. That's my position now. Now they're trying to ram through a repeal without a - any kind of really realistic survey done.
If I got something to say or do to a man, I'm going to look that man in the eye and tell him what is going to happen. That's just me now.

I'm very grateful to be in a position now where I have a lot more control to tell the stories I want to tell. I feel no obligation to tell any one story. I will tell you my interest mostly lies in telling stories about empowered women, but I don't feel it's an obligation. But I do feel like I am servicing a voice.
I'll tell you one thing, since I'm married, single people look absolutely ridiculous to me.
It is a grueling position (catching). My knees will tell you that. I've had nine knee surgeries. I've had a couple of broken thumbs, one on each hand. I can look back at it and say it's worth it to be enshrined in Cooperstown. I don't have any pain in my knees right now.
I think I fit into any type of system because I don't really have a certain position. Sometimes people try and label me, but I don't look at myself as being locked into one position.
I find man utterly unaware of what his wealth is or his fundamental capability is. He says time and again, "We can't afford it." For instance, we are saying now that we can't afford to do anything about pollution but after the costs of not doing something about pollution have multiplied many fold beyond what it would cost to correct it now, we will spend many fold what it would cost us now to correct it.
Hearing politicians tell us we can't afford a tax cut is like listening to a glutton tell you he can't afford a diet. In no other context do people talk about paying for money they don't have. I can't pay for your refusal to give me money because I need a yacht.
The reason I stopped modeling was because I wasn't pleased with trying to portray something that is impossible to reach. Even when I do photo shoots now for films, I'm just not interested in trying to look my best all the time anymore. That pursuit of an impossible perfection seems ridiculous to me now. I'd rather show my vulnerabilities or my doubts than try to be something that no one is.
Don't. Tell me when, then. And before you say never, take a good look at me and tell me if you see a man who's easily deterred.
Because I never thought the Lord would treat me any different from any other honest man or that I had an official position that compelled the Lord to help me in any other way than He would help any other man.
I laugh at it now, but one time I had an agent tell me I would never work in TV if I didn't get a nose job. People tell you to change yourself to fit into the L.A. scene, but the advice usually doesn't make any sense. The next agent told me my nose was great!

We don't take advantage of our position. We keep saying no to free stuff, as we can afford it now.
