I think the first victory is always memorable because that is where my journey started in the IPL and I was part of the team.
It's important what you can do for your team. Even if you score 30-40, if it contributes to team's victory, then it is always memorable.
Playing for India was a memorable journey, and I tried to make it more memorable for my team mates and the Indian cricket fans. I believe that I was reasonably successful in doing so.
Talking of first times Stephanie, I bet your first time was really memorable for you and the captain ot the football team .. and the basketball team .. and the softball team, the track team, the chess club and the pool boy!
I can't imagine where I'd be without the opportunities provided to me in sports. Sports taught me that gender isn't an issue; in fact, when people talk about me being the first female governor, I'm a little absent from that discussion, because I've never thought of gender as an issue. In sports, you learn self-discipline, healthy competition, to be gracious in victory and defeat, and the importance of being part of a team and understanding what part you play on that team. You all work together to reach a goal, and I think all of those factors come into play in my role as governor.
I don't think I'd like to be that guy who does disrupt training. I always feel the team comes first, and that's the way it is, and me being a disruptive influence, because I'm not playing, doesn't help the team.
If a player is playing IPL and earning money, it's not his fault that he's not playing for India. He is not quitting. He is playing first-class, one-day cricket and IPL. If selectors don't pick him, what can he do?
I always hang up my own dresses. It is a good lesson in appreciation and in always remembering that you're part of a team, not outside of the team, but with the team and on the team.
Supporting any team has its ups and downs. But being part of a united team on the brink of victory, is the only way we're going to change the country for the better.
On any high-performing team I've been a part of, putting mission first, and team before self, was always key to collective success.
One of my many theories about short stories is that their titles and first lines ought to be memorable, because if not memorable they will not be remembered, and if not remembered the stories will not be reprinted (because no one can find them).
Trust is the foundation of real teamwork. And so the first dysfunction is a failure on the part of team members to understand and open up to one another. And if that sounds touchy-feely, let me explain, because there is nothing soft about it. It is an absolutely critical part of building a team. In fact, it’s probably the most critical.
I started playing soccer when I was 4 because my sister was doing it. It was my first organized sport, and my parents thought this was a great way to get coordinated and be part of a team. I had an array of options but eventually figured out soccer was best for me.
I'm so... Honestly, it's been amazing to be a part of this journey on 'Veronica Mars.' Because I started out, really, with a word on the show. So it's kind of fun to look back and be like, 'Wow, I was basically an extra,' but not really - I had a little part.
Don't take rest after your first victory because if you fail in second, more lips are waiting to say that your first victory was just luck.
I hated golf when we first started, but a big part of the training process was falling in love with this sport, so I went on tour with the UCLA Team.
To triumph fully, evil needs two victories, not one. The first victory happens when an evil deed is perpetrated; the second victory, when evil is returned. After the first victory, evil would die if the second victory did not infuse it with new life.
