It's starting to feel good, although I don't like feeling too good - that's not where my comedy comes from.
If you walk out of a movie that's meant to be about race in our country, and you're feeling good and happy, then that movie didn't tell you all of the truth. It's too big of an issue, and it's too complicated for you to feel good. It's something you should feel like you need to talk about.
I'm all for making ourselves look good - as long as we feel good, too. Feeling under pressure to look the same means we've gone too far.
If I'm feeling healthy - like, I've eaten well and have drank a lot of water and have clothes that feel good - I feel good.
Love is not a feeling; it's a sensation. Drinking water when you're thirsty is a sensation, not a feeling. Being in nature or swimming in the sea is a sensation, not a feeling. Lying down when you're tired is sensational, not a feeling, although you may say it feels good. Feeling is an emotional interpretation of experience and these sensations don't need interpretation; they are just good or right. Making physical love rightly is a sensation, not a feeling. So is the love of God. The same goes for joy and beauty; both are sensational.'
I think there's a difference between making a feel-good movie like 'Think Like a Man' and a feel-good show like 'Common Law.' It's not too heavy, it's not too serious. You just walk away with a smile on your face. I think that makes people somewhat more endearing to you.
Nervous and scared is a good thing, it's your friend. You feel more on the edge, you feel like you're about to fall down the river, it's a good thing for me. I like that feeling.
How can you be afraid to feel? Isn't fear a feeling? If you're feeling fear, you've felt one of the most negative emotions there is to feel. Everything else should be a piece of cake. Feel good, feel happy, feel healthy, feel loved, feel abundant, feel creative, feel compassionate, feel knowledgeable, feel powerful.
The most important thing is not that my short game looks good, but that it feels good, because at the end of the day, what you need is to feel it, and I'm starting to feel it.
Listen, after almost twenty years of call-in radio, I can tell you that the main thrust of too many lives is an overemphasis on feeling good instead of doing good. Being admired and respected by the self and others has taken a back seat to feeling good, or, at least, avoiding feeling bad. And, oh boy, the excuses some of you can come up with for doing so!
Keep going and keep believing and do what makes you feel good. And when you feel good and get to the point where no-one can take that from you, then that feeling will the best feeling.
I feel like I'm doing a really good job with keeping my ground and staying focused, starting off strong in the third set, because obviously I don't want to go too down.
I don't feel like I'm getting older. I think it's the way I've looked after myself. I take my football seriously. I love scoring goals and I get a good feeling from it, so I'll do whatever it takes to be fit and feel good in games.
I felt like this is a story in 'Life', that does not go too far away from the feeling that something like this could really happen - it's part of what makes you connect and stay with the story. The feeling of "all is good and calm" in the beginning really sets you up for when things start to go "not so good..."
I just like feeling good; I love the gym, I love running, I've taken riding lessons - I've got three kids, so I have a good reason to keep fit and stay healthy. Although I'm not an angel and I do love eating well!
For myself, the way that I learned comedy was doing it live for four years, and only after doing sketch for four years did I feel confident enough to be like, 'Okay, I feel good about starting to put stuff on the Internet where it lives forever.' As opposed to one time at a college sketch show where it bombs and we never speak of it again.
I agree that comedy does a good job - and is often about - stepping over the line - Lenny Bruce, etc. - and that this is important for a lot of poets too. I guess I feel like there has to be depth.
