I love to wear boots - and shoes, I don't like at all.
I like mixing things. I wear a lot of boots. Love boots. And then jeans, but I like to wear them with a really ruffly top. Or I love high-waisted anything.
Boots and shoes are the greatest trouble of my life. Everything else one can turn and turn about, and make old look like new; but there's no coaxing boots and shoes to look better than they are.
When I have a good pair of shoes, I wear them over and over. Whether it's nice sneakers or a cool pair of combat boots, splurge on a pair you love that you can wear over and over with totally different outfits.
I was first to understand it was boring to go with heavy shoes to base camp. When we first tried Dhaulagiri, a very difficult approach at high altitude, we needed very heavy boots. So it was usual to wear such heavy boots to approach all base camps. But I thought this was crazy. We needed lighter shoes for many of the approaches.
I always wear a pair of colored jeans and fun boots. I have a really cute pair of stars-and-stripes Converse, and I love wearing all my bright Nike shoes.
Always wear flat shoes when you are shopping. I rarely wear heels during the day unless I have meetings, as I find them an absolute killer. And I can't pull off calf-length boots - they make my legs look stumpy and fat.
I love looking and seeing what kind of shoes women wear. I think that tells me if a person knows what they're doing. To me, shoes are... If I like your shoes, and you're pretty, that's a good quality. As well as being confident.
Your shoes have to match your belt. That's rule number one for guys. You can't put the brown shoes with the black belt. Or a brown belt with a black wristwatch. Just don't do it! Also, I don't like boots with suits. And when you wear sneakers, make sure they go with your shirt.
For my own style, I love vintage. 60's and 70's are my favorite. I love baby doll dresses and the soft colors. I try to mix a little bit of modern into that - maybe I'll wear it with boots. At my school we wear a uniform, but we have one day a week we can wear whatever we want.
I like to wear the same kind of boots that I've worn in training going up to the game so that I've got a feel for the boots.
I find it very difficult to wear nice, pretty shoes. I'm much more comfortable in boots or Birkenstocks or loafers.
I can be whatever. I can wear shoes or don't wear shoes. I can tie my hair up or wear it down. It doesn't matter.
I have so much fun because I love to meet the women who wear my shoes and meet the clients. That, to me, is the best part - getting to know the faces of the people who actually wear my shoes and getting to have a conversation with them.
On the first day of middle school I wore high-heeled shoes that you weren't allowed to wear. I remember being so embarrassed because in every class I went to they kept pointing out that I couldn't wear these shoes. I wanted to call my mom and have her bring me new shoes!
I'm 5'11, so when I wear heels, it's definitely a really good view that I have. I'm, like, 6'2 when I wear heels, so I tend to wear cowboy boots a lot.
Just because you're wearing something that's like a gown or what have you, you should wear it like you can take your shoes off and put your feet up and what I realized is that most people I love fashion-wise, they wear clothes like that. An ease to it. I thought that was a nice tool.
