I believe in diplomacy; I don't believe in talking to... that talking to Iran somehow constitutes a concession or a favour. — © Richard N. Haass
I believe in diplomacy; I don't believe in talking to... that talking to Iran somehow constitutes a concession or a favour.
Talking and diplomacy is often seen as a concession in America, in a way that it is not in other places.
Iran did not talk to the United States for 35 years. And now we are talking. And I believe these talks are useful. But they haven't produced the intended results. For the first time since 1979, we are talking to the Islamic Republic of Iran. Obama says talking to him is probably pointless, but it's a hell of a relief from Mitch McConnell.
