The slave-breeders and slave-traders, are a small, odious and detested class, among you; and yet in politics, they dictate the course of all of you, and are as completely your masters, as you are the master of your own negroes.
Your son at five is your master, at ten your slave, at fifteen your double, and after that, your friend or foe, depending on his bringing up.
All you have to do is go back to slavery - days, and there were two types of slaves, the house slave and the field slave. No matter how dirty your past is, your future is still spotless.
Whatever your past may have been, your future is still spotless.

Keep a secret, it's your slave. Tell it, and it's your master.
By honestly acknowledging your past errors, but never damning yourself for them, you can learn to use your past for your own future benefit.
