A Quote by Robert Jordan

Always leave a way out, unless you really want to find out how hard a man can fight when he’s nothing to lose. — © Robert Jordan
Always leave a way out, unless you really want to find out how hard a man can fight when he’s nothing to lose.
With Evander Holyfield, I anticipate this being a hard fight. But each time out, you don't want it to be a hard fight. Not to mention, you burn yourself out that way.
It's very hard to win without any problems. To win, you have to fight. And many times, this fight means to indispose in certain ways with some people, to prevail your beliefs. Your point of view, your ideas and your personality above everything. If you don`t fight hard, you lose your own way. And if you lose your own way, you`re nobody. So, to achieve this line of conduct, you have to fight very hard. And in many times, you really have to fight.
As long as you fight, you cannot lose... if you leave everything out there, it doesn't matter if you win or lose. To me you can never lose.
Like when I fought Akebono - six foot eight, 490 pounds. Before the fight, everyone's like 'Man, you're crazy. You're out of your mind. How are you going to fight a guy that big, there's no way you can take him down. You cannot punch him out. You're out of your mind.' After the fight, everybody was like 'Oh come on, he's big and fat.' Really?
You shall find out how salt is the taste of another man's bread, and how hard is the way up and down another man's stairs.
Recognizing truth requires selflessness. You have to leave yourself out of it so you can find out the way things are in themselves, not the way they look to you or how you feel about them or how you would like them to be.
When I look at each of my brothers, I see two things. First, I see the next place I want to leave a rosy welt. Second, I see a good man who will always be there, no matter how hard life gets for me or him. Then, I get out of the way because I realize he's coming at me with a wet dish towel.
It has nothing to do with effort. Just turn away, look between the thoughts, rather than at the thoughts. When you happen to walk in a crowd, you do not fight every man you meet, you just find your way between. When you fight, you invite a fight. But when you do not resist, you meet no resistance. When you refuse to play the game, you are out of it.
A life of writing books is a trying adventure in which you cannot find out where you are unless you lose your way.
I've tried to plan for my future in the past and it doesn't always work out the way I want it to, so leave it all up to the man upstairs.
If you want to know how rich you really are, find out what would be left of you tomorrow if you should lose every dollar you own tonight.
I thought if you tapped out, you lost the round. Come to find out, you actually lose the fight.
I think that drive to fight the fight day in and day out, I think that can go away. You can lose that. As long as you continue to be consumed and overwhelmed with the desire to get better and find another way and keep competing to figure out what you can do to help make this guy be better than he was a day ago, as long as that's there, I don't agree.
All writing is that structure of revelation. There's something you want to find out. If you know everything up front in the beginning, you really don't need to read further if there's nothing else to find out.
There are two ways to go when you hit that crossroads in your life: There is the bad way, when you sort of give up, and then there is the really hard way, when you fight back. I went the hard way and came out of it okay. Now, I'm sitting here and doing great.
I didn't even need America, I was so popular outside the country, until the prosecutin' attorney came from Washington, and said, judge, we cannot let this man go to Japan and fight, because they are anti-American.Now, if I want to leave the country, I know how to leave. Tomorrow. Quick. Easy. If I really want to leave. That's not the intention. The intention is to stop me from makin' a livin'. To punish me.
