That was a f****g dumb question. If I didn't think I was gonna win, why the hell would I be fighting?!
I think if you're gonna get a tattoo, just get one: the words, 'I'm dumb.' That's it. That way in 10 years, when you go, 'Why did I get this?,' you can be like, 'Oh, I'm dumb!'
That's another thing that's depressing: certain attitudes in Congress. They assume that you're dumb; they can take advantage of you being dumb. I find that offensive. It insults our intelligence. They're playing us for dumb and they're being dumb in doing it. But I believe that's gonna change. I think those people, the McConnells, are not helping us at all. They're taking us backward in time.
In any character you do, especially something like 'Watchmen,' if you're gonna do this, you're gonna do this right. I'm fighting for the Comedian every step of the way; there's not even a question, Adrian is a scumbag.
Architects are today routinely indoctrinated against the dumb box. Even advertising urges us to "think outside the box." Why? Because it is thought we all hate the box for being too dumb, too boring, and we want to escape it. If we do escape, by buying the advertised product, we usually find ourselves inside another dumb box populated by boring people just like us. It is clearly possible to live an extraordinary life inside a dumb box. Question: is it possible to lead an extraordinary life in anything other than a dumb box?
To the dumb question, 'Why me?' the cosmos barely bothers to return the reply, 'Why not?'
My question is, if you think this stuff is fake news, why watch it? There's no value in it. Unless you're entertained by it and you have boundaries and the stuff's not gonna affect your mood, fine and dandy. But if it's gonna frustrate you, make you mad, you're not missing anything turning it off.
The question is not whether you would like to be president or not. The question is: Do you think you can win and do you want to run? And none of those are clear to me.
That's precisely the question everyone should be asking-why the hell not? - Why not you, why not now.
People get up and say, 'I didn't prepare a speech because I didn't think I would win.' Well, that's dumb.
But there was no question in my mind that I was gonna still go for it. I was still going for the win. I wasn't skiing for second or third place today, and in the end I think that's probably what got me there.
Of course, the Premier League is one of the trophies we want to win and I think to win the Europa League would be good for the mentality of winning trophies and fighting with the top clubs.
I wanted to fight Cejudo only because it meant I was gonna win the title. It wasn't about fighting a person.
I choose to ignore hell in my life. When I was a little kid I asked my Dad "Am I going to go to hell?" because I'd heard about hell. And he said, "Nothing you're gonna do will get you into hell." And so I got to ignore it.
Who's gonna win between two brothers? The Klitschko mother's gonna win because she said it won't happen.
I think that a lot of people on the left are gonna get tired of fighting gun laws, so they're gonna embrace gun culture. I think when that happens, you've got serious, serious trouble.
These days I find myself wanting to avoid being pigeon-holed, ghettoized, held in a different category than other authors. And when people ask me if I'm a black writer, or just a writer who happens to be black, I tend to say that it's either a dumb question or a question which happens to be dumb.
