Compared to when I was 18, 19 or 20, I would say my diet is the big difference. It is much better.
If I were involved with the NBA, I wouldn't want a 19-year-old or a 20-year-old kid to bring into all the travel and all the problems that exist in the NBA. I would want a much more mature kid. I would want a kid that maybe I've been watching on another team, and now he's 21, 22 years old instead of 18 or 19, and I might trade for that kid.
The things I used to say when I was 18, 19 or 20 aren't the things I'm feeling now, you know?
You can be 19 or 20 and playing reserve team football, be able to say 'I played at,' say, 'Manchester United,' even though you have no actual first team appearances. But there are 19- and 20-year-olds at League Two level with 100 appearances under their belts. I know which one I'd rather be.
I restricted myself to a diet rich in fruits and vegetables and soon enough lost five kgs. Encouraged by that, I continued to follow a balanced diet and lost another 13 kgs. I feel much better now that I am 18 kgs lighter.
Some miners would have 20 pints after a hard day in the mine. Now that we sit behind computers all day, this is down to 18 or 19 pints.
Obviously, psychologically, it would make all the difference in the world. But I think it would also make a big difference financially. If people understood, that, "Y'know, having all those things, that I was told I was supposed to have, to be successful, really is not a measure of success, and I can't have them anyway -" Yeah, that would make a big difference. It would've made a big difference, I think, in my life.
It was kind of good that I wasn't doing the Hollywood high life and stuff like that when I was 18, 19, 20, 21.
My whole thing is that often times when teenagers are about 18, 19, 20, 21, they get this mentality that they have to be old, they have to appear older, they can no longer be seen as a high schooler, they need to be seen as mid-20s all of a sudden, even though they're only, like, 20.
My whole thing is that often times when teenagers are about 18, 19, 20, 21, they get this mentality that they have to be old, they have to appear older, they can no longer be seen as a high schooler, they need to be seen as mid-20s all of a sudden even though they're only, like, 20. I'm the opposite of that.
There is a danger, if you cast someone who is 18, 19 or 20 to play 14 or 15, that very subtly, almost unconsciously, the audience is, "Oh, this isn't so bad."
I would say, compared with the 19th century, compared with most previous history, this is as good or better a society than any which man has ever made. But that doesn't mean it is such a good one.
I partied too much. I was still 19, 20 years old. I was coming from a little small city where there's 40,000 people, so being in New Jersey, New York, being with a big All-Star like Stephon Marbury, he's calling me every night to go out with him. I didn't know how to say no.
Maybe when you're 18, 19, 20, you could have a bit of a wobble if you're going on live TV and playing guitar. But in your thirties you've got to just grow up about it.
The more animal products you remove from your diet, the better you feel. The difference between vegetarian and vegan is huge. I feel so much better as a vegan.
I held 18, 19, or 20-year-old men in my arms, and I heard their last words, and I saw them take their last breath.
If I was 19, 20, 18, and I had the chance to play with first-team players of Manchester United, I will definitely try to take my chance.
