Goaltending, sometimes it's tough because you're in the air and you say, 'No, no. Don't take the ball.'
Once the referee throws the ball in the air, it's either your ball or their ball and you have to just take your shot.
On crosses, sometimes I make my move one or two seconds before the ball is coming because I'm trying to guess that the ball is coming there. It's intuition. So I run. Sometimes the ball comes...sometimes not. But that intuition is working.
The hardest people to play in front of are my brothers and friends from childhood, because I can never take them seriously. I know when they're sitting in the stands; it's constant jokes. They're just waiting on me to shoot an air ball or dribble the ball off my foot so they can laugh.
I've always had good hands, but my reaction time is something goaltending helped me with, being able to track the ball at such a fast speed.
Sometimes - this is a tough one - not everyone can handle the truth. Sometimes you have to take a beat. But if you can take that beat, and take the high road, it'll serve you in the long run.
Sometimes you need to have a tough conversation or face a tough situation, and take it head on.
It's tough to say this, but sometimes it's better if you are losing because then you don't expect anything.
I feel like if they put the ball in the air, it's my ball. It's either a PI or it's my ball.
I think about never letting anybody get the ball in my zone, about being tough. If the ball is taken away from me, I'm the first one to take it back. You can rise to higher levels depending on your level of pride.
My dad has some depressive issues, and he's really tough on himself. So sometimes he can say things that are not super supportive. Like once I did a set, and he says, 'Sheesh, no wonder you're still single.' I was like, 'Eight ball, corner pocket, dad.'
If you don't take care of the ball in this league, I know it's tough to win.
When I'm on really tough golf courses, I feel like I'm more focused because I'm really trying to hit the ball to a certain spot, instead of, a lot of times, when I struggle sometimes is just staying mentally focused on every shot.
I don't think I am that tough, actually. Well, tough in the sense that I don't take any rubbish, and that doesn't make me very popular, frankly. I mean, because some people say something to me, and I just tell them off. I mean, why should I put up with it?
I take a lot of pride in the deep ball - I can throw it 75 yards in the air with ease, and I work at it.
Sometimes it was tough doing take after take upside down! I did a lot of that sort of thing.
Sometimes when I play on the wing, I have to remind myself to stay out wide because I tend to naturally drift in towards the ball. I try to get on the ball and make something happen.
