The media could separate his supporters from him, but they can't from Trump. They don't understand this yet. They think one of these times when they do a trick like this it's gonna work and they're gonna be able to really harm [Donald] Trump.
Donald Trump refused to outline a health care plan. And they just kind of moved on, instead of pressing him on it. He gave a ridiculous answer on the national debt. And they moved on without pressing him on it. No other candidate could have gotten away with that. So, I think there's a weird bias here in the media rooting for Donald Trump, because they know he's the easiest Republican to beat.
The media does not act like they ever lose. If Trump wins, their attitude is gonna be, "Well, it's just gonna take us a little longer to destroy him." And they will continue to try to destroy Trump. And they will do it by finding Democrats who think that he deserves to be impeached.
Note the energy with which the media is going after Donald Trump Jr. And there's a reason. They want to dirty him up. They want to destroy the guy before he gets started on his own political career. He has an obvious interest in politics. He knows his stuff - and he can sell it and he can be persuasive with it - and he is the exact kind of conservative they want to destroy before he gets started.
That's another thing the #NeverTrump-ers can't figure out and despise. But the media did, too. The media was fascinated. [Donald] Trump was ratings. He was money, and still is.
In terms of media, we did not get the kind of media attention that somebody like a Donald Trump got, because media is not necessarily interested in the issues facing the middle class, more interested in attacks in personality. So I think there were a lot of reasons.
How the media covers [Donald] Trump-Hillary [Clinton]? Who knows yet how it's gonna manifest itself, but I guarantee you a lot of people are thinking - and I made the prediction. Well, it's not a prediction, but I said, folks, it's entirely possible that the media will continue to be sort of hands off on [Donald] Trump.
