We haven't won a Super Bowl in, I think, 50 years, so the Jets fans who are out there are die-hard Jets fans. It's like generational fandom.
Jets are probably $2.7 or $2.8 billion. I'm nowhere close to that. The good news is I don't want to buy the Jets tomorrow. I love the journey of being an entrepreneur more than I like of the idea of buying the Jets.
Giants versus Jets Super Bowl. I'm telling you, that's all I want to see.
Everything I've ever been a fan of, whether it's Star Wars or the New York Jets, I've also been very hard on at times. It's sort of like, I go to a Jets game, I want them to win, but the minute they fumble the ball, I go, "I f**king knew it! F**king Jets!" That's part of loving something. As long as you love it, you have carte blanche to critique it as well, of course. That's part of being a fan of anything.
My die-hard fans who came out - I call them my die-hard fans because any time a fan pays to see you, they have to love what you're doing, respect the craft.
You should never say 'D'Brickashaw' and 'bust' in the same sentence. You should never even think that. It should be D'Brickashaw, Pro Bowl, D'Brickashaw, Jets, Super Bowl.
I am a sports fanatic and being able to perform at halftime for the fans of the Steelers and the Jets is such a thrill for me.
I got a lot of fans, like core fans, that love me. I ain't one of the dudes that sell five or 10 million brackets, but my followers are stern. They're there. My fans - Jadakiss fans, LOX fans, D-Block fans - they loyal.
'Luchadores, mil mascaras'... a thousand masks. I see a lot of those in Jets colors. And then the Hispanic fans of other teams, they'll wear them in their colors. And they're like, 'You're our guy, Sanchez, but I'm a Steelers fan.'
Coming here to the New York Jets, where my father once coached and was part of the Super Bowl III staff, is fantastic. I look around at the facilities and the people they have in place and see a first-class organization. I'm just proud to be part of it.
You can't compare a Super Bowl crowd, which tends to be more polite and a little more neutral to that. The Super Bowl only has 7,000 to 8,000 fans for each team.
The thing about the Super Bowl is, once you got to the Super Bowl City, it was non-stop football, 24/7. You couldn't get away from it. You couldn't leave your hotel room and not get bombarded by fans. You couldn't go have a nice dinner and relax. Friends and family weren't there, so the normalcy of life changed.
The one thing I do know about Oakland fans is it doesn't really matter where they are, in my opinion, I still feel like they're gonna be die-hard Raider fans because it's in their blood, it's in their DNA.
The thing I've always admired about Eagles fans is that it's not fans; it's family. It's generational.
I do understand the perspective of die-hard fans who complain that we don't play the same as the record, but at the same time I think fans are getting an amazing deal.
I spent the nights before the Jets' two biggest games last year - for the AFL championship and the Super Bowl - with girls. But I don't consider that bad or foolish of me... The night before a game, I prepare myself both mentally and physically for the next day. I think a ballplayer has to be relaxed to play well; and if that involves being with a girl that night, he should do it.
I want to own the New York Jets, that's what I want. And I absolutely believe I am going to own the Jets.
