A Quote by Saqib Saleem

I have always maintained that music videos and web series are opportunities for actors and technicians, who haven't been able to do films together, to collaborate and make something exciting.
That's always been a dream for me, to be able to collaborate and make music with the people that inspired you to make music.
These actors who were in 'Dope' are the actors I want to continue to collaborate and make films with from here on out.
The more you create, the more ambitious you become with your projects. Short films were a direct result of over 200 web series sketches and vlogs. After you create enough 2-minute videos, you start to wonder what else there is. Deadlines and discipline and quantity with a focus on quality have always been what keeps me going.
I've directed web series, music videos, film shorts, and theater. It's just a hat I put on.
Some people draw a line between music videos and short films, looking down on music videos as a format, but there's so much potential in music videos.
I didn't make music videos in order to make a movie. Music videos were the goal for me, so it was never a step to something else. I approached it seriously.
I think the best actors in the world are here in New York City. And this city is just so vibrant the energy is just phenomenal. Great crews here. All the technicians, all the artists that work in this industry. I've just been very happy with the body that we've been able to do, especially those films we shot here in New York City.
Even on my films, I always collaborate with the actors. That's a given. I think you need that. You need the actors to feel as much ownership of the performance and the direction of the story as you do, to get the most out of everyone's potential.
I've noticed that a lot of people in film always seem interested in music videos, like it's some, like, really exciting thing they've always wanted to do or something.
I'm always running around trying to raise money to make the films. Fortunately, I've been able to do that, but if I can't, at this point, it's not like I wanted to spend a lot of time putting together, you know, you spend a year of your life on something, you go, "What the hell am I doing that for?"
Anybody who has been in a relationship, raised a family, worked in business or been a systems analyst, you have to look at how the whole system works together. You have to find those opportunities to collaborate.
On the web, people are experimenting with something new in terms of characters and stories. It is exciting for actors, as we get a chance to do something new.
Videos come definitely after the music has been created, but I have always felt, and especially today, that videos are vital in the album process. I think that we live in a very visual era, and if you make a mistake with a video, those images will accompany the song forever.
Music is something I've always been interested in and incorporated into my videos.
The term 'web-series' has a stigma attached to it because it was created at a time when the only web-series that were being created were being created by people who would have loved to have a television show, but they couldn't. So they created a web-series instead, on their own dime. And those series look cheap because of it.
I love action films, and to be able to put together 'Silver Hawk' was so exciting.
