A Quote by Sasha Velour

Taking care of your mental health is important, and being able to model that for queer people who are out there every day dealing with their own struggles is very significant.
One of the things we need to do is address mental health care as an integral part of primary care. People often aren't able to navigate a separate system, so you see successful models where a primary care physician is able to identify, diagnose, and concurrently help people get mental health treatment who have mental health issues.
We are unique among advanced countries that we don't have universal health care. My hope was that I was able to get a hundred percent of people health care while I was president. We didn't quite achieve that, but we were able to get 20 million people health care who didn't have it before. And obviously some of the progress we made is now imperiled because there's still a significant debate taking place in the United States. For those 20 million people, their lives have been better.
I think there's strength in being honest and open about yourself and your struggles. But it can also be a challenge. This is my life, I live with my own mental health, and that is happening to me every day. I can talk about it from a position of 'Oh, I've done this' but I'm still living that existence.
I've been out with injury, health struggles and I've really struggled with my mental health, so to be able to get back and be on the start line has been a challenge. I'm excited just to be there, but obviously I expect a lot of myself and I'm pretty sure other people expect me to come out and be able to still dominate.
Taking care of your mental and physical health is just as important as any career move or responsibility.
Your imagination is the single most important asset you possess. Your imagination is your power to create mental pictures of things that don't exist yet and that you want to bring into being. Your imagination is what you use to shape your future. And so in your own way, you are a prophet. You generate countless predictions every day. Your imagination is the source, tirelessly churning out mental pictures of what you'll be doing in the future.

Imagine an America where the health care system is dramatically improved simply because people need to go to the doctor less. Preventive health care, aka taking care of your own body, is a sensible way to go!
For the gay and lesbian community, even though I'm not gay I think its really important to speak out for people that aren't necessarily dealing with the same circumstances you're dealing with and don't have the benefit of the health care system or the government that you do.
Hillary Clinton is on record supporting a doubling of community health centers in this country, which will mean that tens of millions of people - poor people - will have access to health care that do not have it today. Is that significant? It is very significant.
