You must welcome tests because it gives you confidence and it ensures promotion.
So often we think that Allah only tests us with hardships, but this isn't true. Allah also tests with ease. He tests us with na`im (blessings) and with the things we love, and it is often in these tests that so many of us fail. We fail because when Allah gives us these blessings, we unwittingly turn them into false idols in the heart.
I am not against standardized tests. There are tests and tests and tests, and, to simplify, the ones I favor are criterion-referenced tests of skills, aligned with the curriculum. Social and emotional skills are important but skills are too. I find it heartbreaking that this is so often seen as an either-or choice. Business is no longer a matter of profits alone. Profits must come through public confidence, and public confidence is given to any merchant in proportion to the service which he gives to the public.
We may sing 'welcome, welcome, Holy Spirit', but He does not come because of our welcome. He is no guest, no stranger invited in for an hour or two. He is the Lord from heaven and He invites us into His presence.
Modesty isn't always a virtue; it can be a hindrance; a careful measure of personal pride builds confidence and ensures success.
Surviving a failure gives you more self-confidence. Failures are great learning tools - but they must be kept to a minimum.
Pastors must welcome the lost sheep. Actually, I made a mistake. I said welcome, rather, go out and find them.
Nature has written a letter of credit upon some men's faces that is honored wherever presented. You cannot help trusting such men. Their very presence gives confidence. There is promise to pay in their faces which gives confidence and you prefer it to another man's endorsement. Character is credit.
That said, ID does not qualify as science because it gives us nothing to test or measure. Science requires replicable tests involving measurable variables.
When your mother gives you confidence about anything that you do, you carry that confidence with you.
When you receive love, you become more beautiful because of the confidence it gives you.
Sometimes the hurdles aren't really hurdles at all. They're welcome challenges, tests.
What joy the gospel gives me! I can approach the throne of God with confidence-not because I've done a good job at my spiritual duties, but because I'm clothed in the righteousness of Jesus Christ.
