I've definitely been typecast, but I have time to do other things and I was glad to have the chances I did. — © Seann William Scott
I've definitely been typecast, but I have time to do other things and I was glad to have the chances I did.
I definitely enjoyed it and I am glad I did university - four years of not being in the public eye - and I met all my best friends doing it, so I am definitely glad it happened.
My direction as a person working in film has been to never get comfortable with anything I was doing. At the time that I decided to do action films, people were telling me, "Well, you can't do it. You're not that type. It's not going to work." And so obviously that made me think, "Well, that's not comfortable. Maybe I should try it. What can I do with it?" So I did that, and I'm glad I did it. I'll probably do it again, and I did other kinds of things that seemed like challenges for me, because I like being on the high wire.
So, did I work with Warhol? I worked with him less on that play then I did on other things. He actually did a portrait of my rabbit and some other stuff. Warhol was definitely... Warhol.
I have been offered roles in other things, so it's just about making sure I make my decisions wisely because I don't really want to be typecast.
My grandfather died before I started making films, but I definitely learnt this from him: believe in your own judgment and stick to your guns - 99% of the time, you'll be glad you did.
If your film and character are a hit, chances are you'll get typecast in that space.
I'm glad that my music has helped other people as it's helped me. It makes me glad that I did what I did with my life.
When I turned 30, I realised the value of time and with it, the other important things in life. Thats when I did up my house, started spending time with my family and friends and did all that a normal girl would do. All these things I was balancing with my work.

Eradications are special. Zero is a magic number. You either do what it takes to get to zero and you're glad you did it; or you get close, give up and it goes back to where it was before, in which case you wasted all that credibility, activity, money that could have been applied to other things.
You know I'm 27, but I've been traveling since I was 16, 17 years old. You see a lot of things, you hear a lot of things, and it definitely matures you a lot faster than it would other people. I think in that case it's definitely made me a stronger person.
I'm very glad my mother didn't let me quit piano lessons at age 10. She said I wasn't old enough or good enough to make that decision, and she was right. I remember at the time I was shocked. I did not like that my mother said those things to me. But when I got a chance to play with Yo-Yo Ma or more recently with Aretha Franklin, I thought, I'm really glad she said what she did.
I did other stuff before then, but I was sexually active at 20. I'm glad I waited for the right person, because you look back and you go, 'That girl was bats– crazy. I'm glad I didn't go there.'
Thank God the Internet didn't exist when I was 15, 16. I knew people were tearing me apart, but my God, if there had been a net and commenters and I would have been reading them - it was bad enough as it was. To grow up in the media eye, I'm glad it happened, but that was definitely not healthy being around adults all the time.
[Terry] Tussey has been my favorite gunsmith, but I'm also using other people for other things and giving other people chances because there's only so much Terry can do. He knows me to be the best shooter and the most finicky, so I'm really a pain in his ass.
I'd definitely like to study other things and keep on learning all the time, but I wouldn't want to do anything else. Ultimately, acting is my craft. I've always been interested in psychology and nutrition, but I don't know that I'd go and make that my profession.
