I am happy to be part of 'Sajjan Re Phir Jhooth Mat Bolo.' This character is something that I have not done before.
Jai Bolo Telangana' did very well and I am happy about that.
In 'Brothers,' I am going into a zone that is something that I have not done. It's a very simple and desi character. It's also a character that I think a lot of people would not have expected me to do.
I suppose the underlying current for me is the idea of not doing something I've done before. I call myself a character actor and I'm always trying to stay a character actor.
I am very proud to be a part of '3 Idiots,' and happy that the character has worked in a big way.
I'd say I'm a pretty intense person. I'm definitely not my Denise character on 'Scrubs,' nor my Jane character on 'Happy Endings,' but I'm a mix of the two. I really feel that I'm kind of every character that I've ever played; it's just a part of me. And I am a bit of a control freak like Jane. I'm very, perhaps, obsessive like that.
I don't have anything saying, 'I'm going to do this many new films, and this many comedies.' But, it's always exciting for me, whenever it is a new character and something I haven't done before, and that's part of what draws me to it.
I think the character of a man is to establish something where no one else has ever done before.
As an actress, I am very happy with 'Singh Is Bliing' because that was totally different from what I have done before.
You spend so much time developing a character when you do a film; so much of your work is done before you get set to shoot because you've been working on the character: the way he walks, the way he talks, what might upset him, what might make him happy.
I'm truly excited to be a part of two successful franchises - 'Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se' and now 'Housefull 4.'
I'm always intrigued by new challenges and things that I've never done before and new experiences. It sounds so simple, but the primary interest is just something that's good and instills within me some kind of gut feeling that feels like something that I'm passionate and excited about, and there can be multiple variables that can instill that. It can be simply a filmmaker, it can just be a character, it can just be the script, or a combination of all those things. But, I'm always just looking to do things that I've never done before, primarily.
I am a product of every other black woman before me who has done or said anything worthwhile. Recognizing that I am part of history is what allows me to soar.
I've never done this level of physical preparation for something. Particularly for 'Rogue One' where I was training every day and doing kung fu rehearsals on a daily basis. But that's part of the reason I wanted to do it, because it was very different from what I've done before.
I am not happy, and the quest for happiness as a principal objective is not part of my world. Of course, ever since I can remember, I have done what I felt like doing.
What he has done is the best ever in F1. It is something I look up to, and I am happy to have him as my dad.
When I read a script and have my first interaction with this character, do I feel like there's something I'm gonna' learn here? If I feel like it's something I've done before, then what's the incentive for me to do it?
