A Quote by Sherrilyn Kenyon

You always obey him? (Medea)If I didn't want to live, I'd stop taking human souls and expire. It would be a lot less painful than crossing Stryker. (Devyn) — © Sherrilyn Kenyon
You always obey him? (Medea)If I didn't want to live, I'd stop taking human souls and expire. It would be a lot less painful than crossing Stryker. (Devyn)
Trust me, baby, you weren’t that good. I was just a better actress than you were actor. (Zephyra to Stryker) Ew! No offense, Mum, I don’t want to know who you’ve slept with. Kill the sexual bantering and him before I go deaf from it. (Medea)
I love you, baby. And I want you to stay with me. Always. (Devyn) Believe me, there’s no place else I’d rather be. (Alix) Me, either, but I would rather we be naked. (Devyn)
Happiest day of my life when my dad made him human. (Devyn) Happy for you, bonebag…It cost me my girlfriend. (Vik) It was a lamp, Vik, not a girlfriend. (Devyn) I really loved that lamp. She lit up my entire world. (Vik)
Naturally we all have an inclination to command, and a great aversion to obey; and yet it is certain that it is more for our good to obey than to command; hence perfect souls have always had a great affection for obedience, and have found all their joy and comfort in it.
...to be injured on this tundra would lead to a quick and painful death—or at the very least abject humiliation before the popping flashes of the tourist season's tail end, which was slightly less painful than a painful death, but lasted longer.
I've got to stop getting obsessed with human beings and fall in love with a chair. Chairs have everything human beings have to offer, and less, which is obviously what I need. Less emotional feedback, less warmth, less approval, less patience and less response. The less the merrier. Chairs it is. I must furnish my heart with feelings for furniture.
I have you here. Why shouldn’t I be pleased? (Stryker) I can think of a million reasons, starting with the fact that I want to kill you more than I want to breathe. As for the others, would you prefer them in order of importance or alphabetically? (Zephyra)
I empathise with the fact that people want to look their best. A hat is all about how it makes you feel - it's so much better than a nip and tuck, and a lot less painful.
Why have I always been forbidden to touch him? (Stryker) Ours it not to question why. Ours is but to live or die. (Apollymi)
Sway says you’ve been taking really good care of him for me. (Claria) Well, his mom did a great job housebreaking him, so he doesn’t require too much work. Not to mention Vik doesn’t mind walking him once a day. It’s all good. (Devyn) You’re such a smartass. (Claria)
Swear it on your life. (Zephyra) That I can never do. (Stryker) Why can’t you? (Zephyra) Because you are my life, and I can’t live another day without you. (Stryker)
It's very tempting when you really want to be with someone to settle for much, much less - even a vague pathetic facsimile of less - than you would have ever imagined. Remember always what you set out to get, and please don't settle for less. These guys exist because there are a lot of women out there who allow them to.
Any use of a human being in which less is demanded of him and less is attributed to him than his full status is a degradation and a waste.
I think the only thing that really can be done - it would be painful, but less painful than the calamity we're heading toward - is to demand that people be responsible for their private obligations. No more bailouts, no more stimulus, no cash for clunkers.
It has always seemed absurd to suppose that a god would choose for his companions, during all eternity, the dear souls whose highest and only ambition is to obey.
The State is not force alone. It depends upon the credulity of man quite as much as upon his docility. Its aim is not merely to make him obey, but also to make him want to obey.
