I firmly believe that if we all just took a little time - like 10 or 15 minutes a day - to do nothing but sit calmly with our thoughts, this world would be a much better place.
One should talk tough to friends in private, but, as the first phone call with the president of the United States, you're trying to build your personal relationship. You're trying to build on the alliance and the partnerships that we have. Usually, that tough talk doesn't happen with your friends and partners. And people wonder why the tough talk by Donald Trump is happening with Mexico and happening with Germany and happening with our pals, but it's not happening with Russia.
When people go to a new country, whether as refugees or immigrants, kids usually assimilate easily, but it's much harder for the grownups. Especially, oftentimes, for the mothers, because they are usually confined to the house. They're not going to school, and they're not necessarily holding down a job. It's tough. It's not easy to assimilate to a new culture when you're an adult.
