I am really grateful to 'Balika Vadhu' for the recognition I have got because of it. People know me and like me because of it.
I quit 'Jhalak' for 'Balika Vadhu.' I suffered from dengue; I was in ICU for three days, and then I quit 'Balika Vadhu.' I needed a change and wanted to experience new things.
'Balika Vadhu' happened to me because I worked hard in my earlier shows. So, in a way, they are responsible for building my identity.
Balika Vadhu' is the best thing to have happened to me.
Even though half of my stint in 'Balika Vadhu' was positive, people majorly remembered me for the negative part I played initially.
I don't regret my decision that I left a popular show like 'Balika Vadhu.' I am happy that I am out of the show and took a break for a month in Delhi.
Everybody says that 'Balika Vadhu' is the best thing to have happened to me, but I pray for the strength to work hard.
Whatever work I have done in a very short span of time, like 'Balika Vadhu,' 'Kitchen Champion 4,' 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa,' and 'Bigg Boss 7,' has been great for me.
I am eagerly waiting to play the lead role in a romantic show! I have such a strong role in 'Balika Vadhu,' but none of the guys in the show romance me on screen.
But the whole viewership of 'Balika Vadhu' is more than all shows of mine put together. The show has a lot of reach and that has worked for me.
I'm grateful I got the opportunity to do it because I know this now. If anybody ever asked me to do a daytime show again I would go no, no. I can't do that. Not because it's beneath me. It's above me. It's beyond my resources.
I don't have to try to be perfect because I know that my fans like me for who I am. They like me because I am weird and kind of funky, but still really calm.
Ultimately i am really thankful people want to say hello to me and want to let me know they support me, and I am grateful for that no matter what time, what I look like, what I'm doing, so I couldn't be anymore blessed.
I loved the story telling pattern of 'Balika Vadhu.'
I got recognition because of film music, but people start recognizing me as an artiste more because of singles.
When I got to the stage, it was like a release, you know what I mean? Because it was like, 'Oh, people like me. People like me. They're listening to what I have to say. They're not judging me on how I look; they're judging me on what I'm saying.' So to me, that's what's worth it, and that's what comedians have.
I don't know if you know you're funny, but you enjoy being funny. I know I'm funny because people tell me I am, but when I watch myself, it doesn't make me laugh. Does that make sense? Because I know the jokes, and to me, I feel like I'm pulling the wool over people's eyes. And there are probably people who do not enjoy what I do.
