A lot of indigenous cultures are deeply involved in working with ancestor spirits, elemental spirits, and demons. Many of these cultures feel that, if you don't deal properly with ancestor spirits, then they come back and infest the living in the form of things like depression, addictive patterns, and neuroses. We in the modern West completely deny the existence of these spirits or other types of entities. I'm uncertain, with horror fans, when is disturbing just disturbing, and when is it fun disturbing?
Certainly Manchester is the most wonderful city of modern times!
I have no arguments to defend how brutal and disturbing a ritual the corrida is. Like all tragedies, no matter the beauty created, there are no happy endings. If it is indeed an art form, bullfighting is the most disturbing I have ever witnessed.
Most poetry is very formal, but when a modern poet is formal he gets more attention for it than old poets did.
Make the least of all that goes and the most of all that comes. Don't regret what is past. Cherish what you have. Look forward to all that is to come. And most important of all, rely moment by moment on Jesus Christ.
We cherish right and we cherish left, but more important, we cherish when you are able to use the whole mind that you were born with.
