Blackstone is not really a business per se. It's a mission to be the best. — © Stephen A. Schwarzman
Blackstone is not really a business per se. It's a mission to be the best.
We proclaim human intelligence to be morally valuable per se because we are human. If we were birds, we would proclaim the ability to fly as morally valuable per se. If we were fish, we would proclaim the ability to live underwater as morally valuable per se. But apart from our obviously self-interested proclamations, there is nothing morally valuable per se about human intelligence.
Twitter is definitely not the place to handle business per se.
My interests are not really with television, per se.
I was never really a virtuoso guitar player per se.
I'm not really good at skiing or snowboarding, or swimming, per se.
I don't really admire musicianship per se - as is obvious from my own playing.
I don't really go mountain biking per se, like a proper sport.
The problem with Russia is not corruption per se, or even Putin per se. Russian government is not corrupt because Vladimir Putin has absolute power. Russian government has been corrupt and will always be as long as anyone has absolute power.
Trying to stay in the moment as an actor and being really [present in] what you're doing and the scene that's going on and where the characters have come from, it wasn't difficult, per se, to really embody and embrace.
But, in fairness to them, too, the popular song per se is really a pretty shallow medium to perform in.
We started our company out of a need to survive, but we've built it based on a mission not only to help others survive but to prosper. In fact, we view ourselves as a mission with a business, rather than a business with a mission.
Let's just call what happened in the eighties the reclamation of motherhood . . . by women I knew and loved, hard-driving women with major careers who were after not just babies per se or motherhood per se, but after a reconciliation with their memories of their own mothers. So having a baby wasn't just having a baby. It became a major healing.
The best visual book I can think of is Lynda Barry's What It Is, but although I refer to it all the time it's not a creative writing book per se.
I used to be a businessman and I enjoyed what I did and I thought that it was socially useful. I don't have anything against business or private enterprise or capitalism per se, but I think that it is time to rethink the regulation of capitalism.
I do not have a family, per se. When I was younger, I grew up in foster care with my brother and sister. It was really a struggle, and knowing that there were people out there with tight-knit families really made my childhood an unfortunate one.
Our royalty statement has been minimal and menial. Really. We don't collect more than a per cent of a per cent of a per cent of a per cent of a per cent of a per cent of a per cent. We get maybe the seventh of 1 percent.
