A Quote by Stephenie Meyer

So, did you stab Edward Cullen with a pencil or what? I've never seen him act like that. — © Stephenie Meyer
So, did you stab Edward Cullen with a pencil or what? I've never seen him act like that.
I still had the same frustration with trying to play [Edward Cullen], the entire way through, right up until the last shot. It's a strange part because, on the one hand, a lot of the audience projects their idea of Edward[Cullen] onto him. It doesn't matter what he is. They want him to be a certain way. And then, my instincts were to try and play it and to try to find the fallibility in him and the weaknesses.
I tensed for the spring, my eyes squinting as I cringed away, and the sound of Edward's furious roar echoed distantly in the back of my head. His name burst through all the walls I'd built to contain it. Edward, Edward, Edward. I was going to die. It shouldn't matter if I thought of him now. Edward, I love you.
Isabelle looked at him thoughtfully. "Did you seriously jump thirty feet out of a Malachi Configuration? Did he, Alec?" "He did," Alec confirmed. "I've never seen anything like it." "I've never seen anything like this." Jace lifted a ten-inch dagger from the floor. One of Isabelle's pink brassiers was spread on the wickedly sharp tip. Isabelle snached it off, scowling.
Odd as this might sound, I suppose I’m glad you’re here, Jacob. [Edward Cullen]
I wish i'd hurt him I didn't do any damage at all-Bella I can fix that-edward I was hoping you would say that-bella there was a slight pause "that doesn't sound like you what did he do"-edward he kissed me-bella all i heard on the other end of the line was the sound of an engine accelerating
Do you ever think that your life might be easier if you weren't in love with me?" — Edward Cullen
I always say too much when I'm talking to you--- that's one of the problems.... Edward Cullen Twilight, Chapter 5
what choice have I? I cannot live without you, but I will not destroy your soul." -Edward Cullen
I'm really glad Edward didn't kill you. Everything's so much more fun with you around." — Emmett Cullen
But most significant in this tidal wave of happiness was the surest fact of all: I was with Edward. Forever - Bella Cullen
I wondered to myself why no one else had seen him standing so far away, before he was suddenly, impossibly saving my life. With chagrin, I realized the probable cause - no one else was as aware of Edward as I always was. No one else watched him the way I did. How pitiful.
You're trying to play someone [Edward Cullen] who's seen by a lot of people as being this perfect thing, but what is that? That doesn't really mean anything. You're trying to play an archetype on one hand and then a character on the other, so I felt insanely frustrated right up until the last shot, and then it ended.
When you read the [Twilight series], it's like saying 'Edward Cullen is so beautiful I creamed myself'. I mean every line is like that. He's the most ridiculous person who's so amazing at everything. I think a lot of actors tried to play that aspect. I just couldn't do it. And the more I read the script, the more I hated this guy, so that's how I played him, as a manic-depressive who hates himself. Plus, he's a 108-year old virgin, so there's clearly some issues there
I know you think that I have some kind of perfect, unyielding self-control, but that's not actually the case. - Edward Cullen
I’m a little worried about Edward… Can vampires go into shock? Bella Cullen, Breaking Dawn, Chapter 7, p.129
The way everyone looked at me made me uncomfortable. Even Edward. It was like I had grown a hundred feet during the course of the morning. I tried to ignore the impressed looks, mostly keeping my eyes on Nessie’s sleeping face and Jacob’s unchanged expression. I would always be just Bella to him, and that was a relief. Bella Cullen, Breaking Dawn, Chapter 39, p.747
