Movements are powerful forces of human nature. But fashion has never been egalitarian. There needs to be a balance between aspiration and accessibility, curation and community.
For at least the past 65 years, liberalism has been nothing if not an attempt to strike a balance between the needs of the community and the needs of individuals, between the need for freedom and the need for order.
For 40 years, my argument has been that democratizing ownership of wealth has been the key to egalitarian society and the goals of egalitarian society.
