Just because the office is casual doesn't mean you shouldn't make an effort. — © Tan France
Just because the office is casual doesn't mean you shouldn't make an effort.
I can't do the movies like I do painting because I am really more of a sort of dilettante or something. I mean I know guys that make movies that I can see it is absolutely their medium and they can just go from one movie right into the next because it is just - they have got it so much on the tips of their fingers. But for me it is a special effort.
Every office interprets business casual differently. Feel out your office!
Proper effort is not the effort to make something particular happen. It is the effort to be aware and awake each moment, the effort to overcome laziness and merit, the effort to make each activity of our day meditation.
I usually wear casual clothes to the office. I wear a suit maybe two or three times a month, and usually only when I need to meet with the head office.
I have no choice but to admit that, for a while, I was a casual viewer of 'American Idol.' By 'casual viewer,' I mean I watched every episode aired between 2004 and 2007.
Make an effort to exert yourself-everyday. Don't fail because you never allowed yourself to get started! Don't avoid success because you think the responsibility might be too much-just focus and get going! You'd be surprised at what intelligent effort can produce.
I'm gonna see 'Mission Impossible' Part 9 because I like Tom Cruise movies! But just because the box office has that one receipt from the ticket I purchased, doesn't mean it represents someone who liked it.
My father never ran for office or supported anybody for office, and was not engaged in that at all. But I think people throughout the area were just in a constant state of tension - I mean, adults.
It is not enough to want to make the effort and to say we'll make the effort. We must actually make the effort. It's in the doing, not just the thinking, that we accomplish our goals. If we constantly put our goals off, we will never see them fulfilled. Someone put it this way: Live only for tomorrow, and you will have a lot of empty yesterdays today.
You have to make an effort to be in an unprotected environment because everyone thinks you're a completely incapable idiot who couldn't possibly brush his teeth without an assistant. You have to make an effort in order to be able to actually experience the country that you're in.
On occasion we need to make a second effort - and a third effort, and a fourth effort, and as many degrees of effort as may be required to accomplish what we strive to achieve.
I am sending a memo to every man in the world: just because you make an effort with your wardrobe doesn't make you a wuss.
Just because someone isn't working at an office doesn't mean they're not working hard at something.
Just because you are friends doesn't mean you like the same kind of men, want to live in the same type of house, and both want your steak cooked the same way! I often disagree with my friends, however I make every effort to be sensitive to their feelings and be supportive.
Just because I make films doesn't mean I think they're great. I just make them and then when I'm done with them I'm just a filmgoer like I always am. They're all lessons. I'm still in film school, honestly. And this one is just a dry run for whatever the next one is.
I just want to make sure that I'm competing every day and giving my best effort, because everything else just falls into place.
