I'd love to do something at Marvel, but I don't think I would do a seven-movie deal. That's a bit too much for me.
I love comedy. It's something that I think Marvel does so well, and it's one of the reasons I love Marvel so much is the quips that you get: that kind of underlying everything and cutting through the very heavy emotional stuff.
I would love to do a big movie - a 'Marvel' movie.
There are some jobs where you think, 'There's no way! This would be too, too good. The universe would love me too much were it to actually happen.'
I think to be a movie critic is troubling from one major respect. If you are forced to watch ten movies a week, it's really only something you can do for a few years. After a while, it's a bit too much.
There's a price you pay for drinking too much, for eating too much sugar, smoking too much marijuana, using too much cocaine, or even drinking too much water. All those things can mess you up, especially, drinking too much L.A. water ... or Love Canal for that matter. But, if people had a better idea of what moderation is really all about, then some of these problems would ... If you use too much of something, your body's just gonna go the "Huh? ... Duh!"
In the 1940s, I was doing something called the Equity Library Theater in New York, when a movie company came to see the play I was in and offered me a contract. But the deal was, my nose was too big and they wanted me to have surgery. My jaw was crooked, and I'd have to have that fixed, too. And they didn't like my name; it was too common.
There were a couple of years where I got a bit lost - I went out too much, I was a bit heartbroken, thought I was a bit more of a dude than I really was. I would love to go back and have a strong word with myself.
I would like to do something that pushes me as an actress to make me better. I would love to do something dramatic or crazy. I think that would be so much fun.
I would love to maybe shoot a movie or something, but end goals: I just want to play a superhero. I think that would be so much fun. I'm putting that energy into the universe for sure.
If I was in some Marvel movie and made all that Marvel money, you wouldn't see me ever again.
Education is the thing. This black-white bit - I don't deal with people that way. I deal with it as if you are another individual. If you do something that perturbs me or aggravates me, I do not think you've done it because I'm black.
Do you think you can love too much? Or experience too much beauty, at the cost of too much pain? Do you think when art is defined by expressing so much beauty and so much pain, just to be able to cope with both - and bring other people something creatively beautiful at the cost of that pain - that we can draw a line of 'normalcy'? It's important to think about.
My friends would probably describe me as silly. And honest. And that I think about things a bit too much.
It may never happen, but I'd love to make a movie and not be rushed or concerned about shooting too much film. Probably a fantasy, but it would be nice. It would also be cool to fill a movie with all my favorite songs, but music is so damn expensive. We can't all be Cameron Crowe.
I'm a huge, huge comic book fan. I love the superhero movies so much. If I had to be one of the Avengers, I would go with Thor. I would have to. I just think I look the part too much, and I'm a fan of all of them, but Thor would be something that I think I could put on. I think I could make it happen.
I really love movie soundtracks and stuff like that. That's really a huge part of any movie. I actually think about... that this would be cool in a movie or something, like when I'm writing a song, or something you know?
