Hey, you can't play football forever unless you're Brett Favre or Ray Lewis.
You look at Ray Lewis, you look at Brett Favre. I know it's different positions, but you think about the mental mindset it takes to continue to grind and play at a high level. Those are the guys that I look at that motivate me.
To be compared to Brett Favre is pretty special, but he was his own player, and so am I. I'm not trying to be Brett Favre, Jr., the second coming. I want to be myself, and I want to be the best to ever play.
I liked Steve Young, but if I had to name one all-time favorite, it's Brett Favre. I'm a fan of the game, I'm a fan of everybody, but Brett Favre is on top.
I was a huge Brett Favre fan, because how could you not like him as a kid playing football? Then getting a chance to play against him was pretty damn cool.
Ray Lewis, I've grown up watching Ray Lewis. Just watching his intensity, his passion for the game, his love for the game, his work ethic. Everything in a linebacker that you want to be is in Ray Lewis, from leadership qualities, all that.
I'll keep playing 'til the doctor tells me I can't play. I'm going to be Brett Favre: 'Yeah, I'm retiring... Naah, I'm coming back!'
Brett Favre likes to tell stories.
Whatever Brett Favre does, it's a sign of the apocalypse.
If I could be like any other quarterback that played in the National Football League, I would have to say Brett Favre is the guy. Besides the injuries and the hits and everything, he had a pretty successful career. He's a Hall of Famer for sure, multiple Super Bowls, and that's something that I look forward to doing.
Brett Favre was one of my favorite players. Joe Montana, obviously, was great.
A fan is always an outsider. Most sportswriters are not, by this definition, fans. They capitalize on access to athletes. They spoke to Kobe last night, and Kobe says his finger is going to be fine. They spent three days fly-fishing with Brett Favre in March, and Brett says he's definitely coming back for another season.
The one record I was happy to get rid of was the one for the most interceptions, when Brett Favre got that one.
I am a Georgia guy, and I have Brett Favre's card when he played with the Atlanta Falcons. That's my retirement plan.
If you give Brett Favre time to throw the ball and single coverage, you're making the offense that much better.
Ray Lewis is the type of guy, if he were in a fight with a bear I wouldn't help him, I'd pour honey on him because he likes to fight. That's the type of guy Ray Lewis is.
I think there's a prototype we're all looking for, whether it's Brett Favre or Troy Aikman. And everyone's got that picture in their mind of the prototype at the position.
