You can't really teach rebounding. You can teach how to box out, but rebounding, that's something you've got to have in you. — © Terry Rozier
You can't really teach rebounding. You can teach how to box out, but rebounding, that's something you've got to have in you.
Rebounding in practice and rebounding in games are two completely different things.
I've been making a list of the things they don't teach you at school. They don't teach you how to love somebody. They don't teach you how to be famous. They don't teach you how to be rich or how to be poor. They don't teach you how to walk away from someone you don't love any longer. They don't teach you how to know what's going on in someone else's mind. They don't teach you what to say to someone who's dying. They don't teach you anything worth knowing.
The rules within the educational system really teach you not push the boundaries, or not to think outside the box. They teach you to think inwardly about what's in the box.
In general I like a guy who is athletic, somebody who can teach me something. Whether it's teaching me a new way to cut on a wave or teach me a three-point conversion or teach me how to dribble a soccer ball. There's something really cool about that.
I mean, the criticism of Donald Trump is that he could win this race, and that he was doing well and he was rebounding and his numbers in various states were rebounding - and then he went after Miss Universe and talked about her being too fat and talked about women's looks again, and women don't like that...
Watch any plant or animal and let it teach you acceptance of what is, surrender to the Now. Let it teach you Being. Let it teach you integrity — which means to be one, to be yourself, to be real. Let it teach you how to live and how to die, and how not to make living and dying into a problem.
You have to teach now - tell a kid how to box out, tell him how to pass, teach him footwork. Players don't understand that anymore.
Everybody knows that rebounding is my strong point, so they're boxing me out. I've just got work harder.
When we teach a child to sing or play the flute, we teach her how to listen. When we teach her to draw, we teach her to see. When we teach a child to dance, we teach him about his body and about space, and when he acts on a stage, he learns about character and motivation. When we teach a child design, we reveal the geometry of the world. When we teach children about the folk and traditional arts and the great masterpieces of the world, we teach them to celebrate their roots and find their own place in history.
People always say, "Can writing be taught?" I always think, I can teach you how to write a better sentence, how to do dialogue, how to do character, but I can't teach you how to be a decent person, and I can't teach you how to have something to say.
I want to teach people how to do it the right way. And it is from that they can teach their children how to do it properly. It will teach them how to cook better and healthier at home.
You can't teach talent. You can't teach inspiration. You can teach people critical facilities. You can give them techniques. You can teach discipline. And you can teach them about the business.
First rule of Teach Kane a Lesson: you don’t talk about Teach Kane a Lesson. Second rule of Teach Kane a Lesson: you don’t talk about Teach Kane a Lesson. Third rule of Teach Kane a Lesson: if someone taps out, you just keep fighting. Fourth rule of Teach Kane a Lesson: there are no rules. Got it?
I'm going to find my minutes to do something really well to help my team. Whether that's pushing the ball really fast down the court and trying to beat them up the court, rebounding at the guard spot, or something else, I'm going to get in there and do it.
Theater schools teach you how to act, but they don't teach you anything about the business, so I got to New York, had no idea what the hell I was doing, and just did anything I could for a really long time.
There's really no way to teach you how to act, but there is a way to teach you how to teach yourself to act. That's kind of what it is; once you learn the little tricks that work for you, pretty soon you find yourself doing that.
