A Quote by Theophilus London

To me, my brand is luxury, it's art, it's women, it's raw, it's urban. — © Theophilus London
To me, my brand is luxury, it's art, it's women, it's raw, it's urban.
When I was on SmackDown, there wasn't really competition against Raw in our locker room. It was more about how we could build the brand as a whole, not so much against Raw. I think that drove us to show what our women could do.
Like Free People, the Urban brand is planning to grow by expanding product assortments, expanding the brand reach and by improved marketing.
The art of marketing is the art of brand building. If you arenot a brand, you are a commodity. Then price is everything and the low-cost producer is the only winner.
Art is not entertainment. Art is not luxury goods. Art is culture. It is you and me.
Repositioning a brand is never easy and rarely without pain. I believe the Urban brand is making the necessary changes that will allow it to more fully engage its traditional customer and return to solid profitability.
Luxury is obviously the direction that interests me the most, but there is a lot of confusion between luxury and exhibitionism. For me, the concept of luxury is more traditional, more exclusive, more sophisticated than luxury for the masses.
Of a life of luxury the fruit is luxury, whether in agriculture, or commerce, or literature, or art.
I don't believe in the art-for-art's-sake philosophy. With the raw material before me and the gifts within me, I did my best to celebrate the voices and intelligence and sweetness and dreams of the children in spite of their chaotic, outer worlds.
I wanted to show the history and strength of all kinds of black women. Working women, country women, urban women, great women in the history of the United States.
'Raw' wants to be the better brand; 'SmackDown' wants to be the better brand. A bunch of alphas on both brands.
It’s one thing if you are a luxury brand and have been around for 60 years and can weather the retail storm we’ve had, but if you are a new brand that’s just starting out — whether you are a writer or a retailer — innovating through social media is crucial. Those that are hidden and guarded will not progress.
I'm a luxury brand.
I was frustrated in the past, like, 'Wow, why do they have to throw me in the R&B urban adult contemporary lane?' 'Woman' was a no. 1 hit at Urban AC, so there's no disrespect to that lane. But did it get a fair shot at urban radio? No, I don't think so.
Gasoline prices are a direct reflection of the cost of the raw materials to produce the gasoline, no different than any other product that you would buy, whether it's a good or some other consumable, or it's a luxury item. It's all a function of what do the raw materials cost.
For those of us who are on the Raw brand, to hook up with the guys from the Smackdown brand is our chance to go in there and get a hold of guys that you normally don't get a chance to work with.
To be able to do art, it was a luxury to me.
