A Quote by Thomas Paine

The Allwise Creator hath been dishonored by being made the author of fable and the human mind degraded by believing it. — © Thomas Paine
The Allwise Creator hath been dishonored by being made the author of fable and the human mind degraded by believing it.
Unthinking faith is a curious offering to be made to the creator of the human mind.
Is a Christian- one who communicates daily with the Creator- to divorce himself from the things God created and intended man to have, and which demonstrate the fact that man has been made in the image of God? In other words, are we who have been made in the image of our creator to be less creative than those who do not know the Creator? The Christian should have more vividly expressed creativity in his daily life.
The Fable story hinted at a dramatic time before 'Fable 1' when the Guild was founded, this would be a perfect setting for 'Fable 4.'
We've got plans for 'Fable' III, IV, and V. It's a big story arc, and if you play Fable II, you'll recognize things from 'Fable I.'
That which hath made them drunk hath made me bold; What hath quenched them hath given me fire.
Science has now confirmed what philosophers, mystics, and other intuitive people have long declared: every human being has been literally "engineered for success" by his Creator. Every human being has access to a power greater than himself.
Now to act with integrity, according to that strength of mind and body with which our creator hath endowed each of use, appears necessary for all.
We've digressed from the true meaning of life. We have replaced the Creator with money and claim Him in the name of war. We have dishonored our children.
Man is not made better by being degraded.
I can fool you because you're a human. You have a wonderful human mind that works no different from my human mind. Usually when we're fooled, the mind hasn't made a mistake. It's come to the wrong conclusion for the right reason.
[H]uman beings...make a limit in their mind of what their potential is. They decide, "I've been told this," or "this is what society tells me," or they've been made to believe something. If every human being actually threw away those thoughts...the potential of human beings is great, it's huge, compared to what they actually think of themselves.
The aim of a joke is not to degrade the human being, but to remind him that he is already degraded.
There is abundant evidence that the Bible, though written by men, is not the product of the human mind. By countless multitudes it has always been revered as a communication to us from the Creator of the Universe.
The hand that hath made you fair hath made you good. Pity is the virtue of the law, and none but tyrants use it cruelly.
To say that an author is a reader or a reader an author, to see a book as a human being or a human being a book, to describe the world as text or a text as the world, are ways of naming the readers craft.
It was an amazing thing to see how Bowerstone, the capital of 'Fable,' progressed. It went from, in 'Fable 1,' to just 20 houses and then in 'Fable 3' it felt like a city that had districts. You could see that sense of progression in it.
