I think confidence is a key thing in this league and I want everyone that's on the floor with me to be just as confident as I am.
I certainly direct with confidence even if I'm not confident. I learned early on as an actor that confidence can be faked, and it's not always a terrible thing to do. A lot of times if people feel you're confident, then they're confident.
I think the most important thing about playing is to walk out with confidence, look the people right in the eye and say 'Here I am,' and go and do your thing. As soon as they know you're confident, they're confident. As long as you adjust to them you're not in trouble. You should eyeball them, find out what they want, and give it to them. They didn't pay to come out and look at the tapestries.
Individually, yeah, I want to be the best version of me. But I want to make everyone else feel comfortable on the floor where they can go out there and they are just playing their game. That's when I'm the happiest, when every guy on the floor is just being that.
The main thing is confidence. I'm gaining more and more confidence to do whatever I want to do on the basketball court, whether it is shooting threes or sprinting to the rim and finishing or ball handling. I'm confident enough because I have worked on it that I am going to do the exact same things in the game.
I don't think I've ever changed. I am only one person, it's just me. I'm confident and I'm quite happy with who I am, but it's my life and I'll be what I want.
I consider myself a very confident person, but I don't actually think I am big-headed because my confidence doesn't affect me.
I think the opposite version of me is the one we don't see, which is there are tens of thousands of outrageously successful businesses of very quiet, very calculated, calm executors who are confident. You can't be successful without being confident. They believe in themselves. They have their own version of assertiveness ... I think confidence matters and I think other things matter, like I would tell you empathy is probably why I'm more successful than confidence. I'm empathic to the customer, to my business partners, to my employees.
I think looking after your mental and physical health is key to confidence, because they go hand in hand. Meditation, doing some yoga, working out always makes me feel more confident in my own skin.
People may think that I just want to manage in the Premier League but I'm prepared to go to a non-league club, and if they can't pay me a salary just pay me a win bonus. I'm up for that.
I don't think confidence has ever really been one of those things that came naturally for me. If people thought I was confident, it was really just the way I masked my insecurity, because I didn't want people to really get to know the real me.
You've got to have confidence and trust in your cast. You have to have confidence and trust in your director, in your editor. It's such a team effort; I really think you have to pull yourself out of it and just trust. I think the number one thing you can do is just trust everyone around you.
I know I can succeed at Manchester United, and I want to show everyone that I deserve to be a key player in this team and this league.
Casual?" Elam halted and crossed his arms. "My good horse, there's a big difference between casual and confident. I am aware of the danger, but......I want to maintain a confident mind-set in full assurance of faith, otherwise my heart might melt within me." ..... "Take care that your confidence does not swell into arrogance, for that is the downfall of every man of pride.
I think everybody is under the impression that everyone wants to work in the Premier League. I want to work at the top level like everyone else, but it doesn't mean that's the Premier League.
I think I can handle the pressure and am pretty confident I can adapt to the style of the Premier League.
I think you can train yourself to block out some of that pressure and replace it with confidence. It's about preparation, and the more prepared I am, the less pressure I feel and the more confident I am. As your confidence grows, it's only natural that the pressure you feel diminishes.
