I cannot emphasise enough how important exercise is. I have to do at least a three-mile fast walk a day, usually in the afternoon. Movement is incredibly important in helping my body use up my energy.
When using the run-walk method to finish a marathon, the most important walk break comes in the first mile. The second most important one comes in the second mile, and so on. The point is, walk before you become fatigued.

I might wake up in the morning and go out for a six- to eight-mile run, and then in the afternoon, I might swim two or three kilometres. The next day, I'll mix it up and do a military circuit. I don't stick to a set programme.

Do the small things. If you are running a 10-12 minute mile take a mile off your plan for the day and use the 6 minutes before and after to stretch. A lot of the times we all want to go go go but it's important to stretch the calves and the hamstrings and nutritionally you know?
