Good films not only help me grow as an actor but as a human being. — © Vicky Kaushal
Good films not only help me grow as an actor but as a human being.
I want to do only such films which will help me grow as an actor.
An actor must read a lot. Books not only make one a good actor but also a better human being.
All I know is that I intend to do films which are different from each other, work with good directors and on great stories so that I get to grow as an actor. That's my only attempt.
I'm interested in seeing films that confront me with new things, with films that make me question myself, with films that help me to reflect on subjects that I hadn't thought about before, films that help me progress and advance.
I don't know why people feel that I am only interested in films, but I very much want to do fiction. My only prerequisite is a good role, something which satisfies the actor in me. If I get a good banner and a good channel, I would definitely do a daily soap.
The human being that I strive to be is a great human being, like a loving human being, but as an actor, you take on roles that are not you and that's the fun part for me as far as acting goes. You really get to learn about other human beings and not judge.
I am 100-films old. In my heyday, I have done a lot of commercial films, including dancing around the trees with the heroine. But after working with Rituparno Ghosh, my understanding of cinema changed. Whatever good I am doing, it is because of him. If I am being called a good actor, it is only because of him.
I don't want to be quoted as 'Tom Hiddleston, psychologist says...' But there is a psychological aspect to being an actor. We are particular students of human nature - not every actor is, of course, but that's what fascinates me about being an actor.
I'm an actor and I love to find new collaborations and new characters where I can grow as an actor and human being.
I know that stress on me mentally and physically will only help me improve not only as a human being but as a wrestler.
It was very important for me to work in an office environment because I wanted the knowledge and experience of working in a team. That would help me as a human being. But I have always wanted to do films. It was instinctive.
The biggest and the most important thing my mother told me is to be a good actor you first need to be a really good human being and an honest person.
The biggest misconception about me and my work is that I only make political films denouncing human-rights atrocities, even though all of my films are about people fighting for their rights and their quest for justice. My films aren't depressing, are very human, and always offer a way forward.
There's a lot of good people out here that want to help you grow and to help the music to continue to grow and evolve and go find those folks and be around them and carry it on... carrying the tradition on in the way with what it is that you have to offer. Find some good people in the music that will believe in you and they'll help you do that.
I have no qualms approaching directors who I know will help me grow as an actor.
I'm only interested in being a good actor and in being remembered for my best films, not for the way I look. But it seems inevitable in this line of work that I have to care about the way I look without getting obsessed about it.
