Even the best team, without a sound plan, can't score.
The best team I played in was the Brazilian one in 2002; we felt that we could always score. It was a team without any vanity - or individuals.
It is better to follow out a plan consistently even if it isn't the best one than to play without a plan at all. The worst thing is to wander about aimlessly.
I love the sound of snow... You can hear it even if you are only standing on a balcony. [The sound] is only minimal, not even a real noise: a breath, a trifle of a sound. You have the same thing in music: if in the score there is a pianissimo marked that ends in nothing. Up thee you can feel this 'nothing'. With an orchestra it is very difficult to achieve it. The Berlin Philharmonic manage it sometimes.
I'm in the team to score goals. I try and score as many as I can in the season to help the team out.
It's important what you can do for your team. Even if you score 30-40, if it contributes to team's victory, then it is always memorable.
What matters is the team winning. Even if I only managed to score once or twice all season, if the team won the league title, I'd still be happy.
All I can do is do my best: score goals, give assists, and do my best for my team.
Perhaps the toughest call for a coach is weighing what is best for an individual against what is best for the team. Keeping a player on the roster just because I liked him personally, or even because of his great contributions to the team in the past, when I felt some one else could do more for the team would be a disservice to the team's goals.
You play your surroundings. You pitch accordingly. Not that I drastically try to change my game plan based on the score or the team or stadium, but you have to take everything into consideration.
If I were a high school coach, I would put my best players on offense. The best athletes on my team, I would give them the ball and score points. I wouldn't play them on defense. I would play them where they can get the ball and score points.
There are games where the striker will be useful for the team in terms of creating space and being involved in the game, without necessarily scoring, but he'll have played an important role for the team. But, of course, over the course of a season, I have to score goals, as that's what statistics reflect.
Work cure is the best of all psychotherapy, in my opinion.... As well might we expect a patient to recover without food as to recover without work.... The sound man needs work to keep him sound, but the nervous invalid has an even greater need of work to draw him out of his isolation, and to stop the miseries of doubt and self-scrutiny, to win back self-respect and the support of fellowship.
I came from my hometown team, Real Sociedad, to the best team in England, to the best team in Spain, to the best team in Germany.
A team championship doesn't happen because three people score 10s, it happens because all the guys score well. In my opinion, everyone deserved 10s, we're all 10s on this team.
My target is to score the most goals I can and assist my team-mates to score to.
A team doesn't have the ball for 90 minutes. It is about the recoveries. I do my best to do that and help the team any way I can. If that's a pass, an assist, a tackle or even if it's only running, I do it for the team.
