Theodore Edmond Bridgewater Jr. is an American football quarterback for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Louisville and was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. During his second season, he led the Vikings to a division title and earned Pro Bowl honors. However, upon suffering a severe leg injury the following off-season, Bridgewater appeared in only one game over the next two years. Bridgewater joined the New Orleans Saints in 2019 as a backup, but served as the team's starter in relief of Drew Brees. He later held starting roles with the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos for one season each before joining the Dolphins in 2022 as a backup.
