I think that my research is valuable to my teaching. I think that the two complement each other and I'm able to present somewhat more stimulating lectures because of what's happening in research, so it's a good complement.
I think it's not fair to the uniqueness and wonderfulness of the individuals, that we can complement one another greatly, but we are not the source of each other's happiness, especially if you don't know who the hell you're talking to.
It is not our purpose to become each other; it is to recognize each other, to learn to see the other and honor him for what he is: each the other's opposite and complement.
After Self-Realisation it is easy to perceive the truth that all these religions were born on the same tree of spirituality, but that those in charge of each religion plucked the flowers from the living source and are now fighting each other with the dead flowers of merely partial truths.
Subjects who reciprocally recognize each other as such, must consider each other as identical, insofar as they both take up the position of subject; they must at all times subsume themselves and the other under the same category. Angie [Harmon] is a beautiful and stunning woman, and we both have really good qualities that complement each other. We both look very different and we have different energies, but it really works. We're lucky. When we do scenes together, I do feel like there's a certain magic that you can't always say happens.

Eighty years later, by a bizarre coincidence, they lay in the same hospital, on their deathbeds, next to each other. One of them looked at the other and said, 'So, what did you think?
When two people love each other, they do not comply and does not dominate, only complement each other.
Art and ideology often interact on each other; but the plain fact is that both spring from a common source. Both draw on human experience to explain mankind to itself; both attempt, in very different ways, to assemble coherence from seemingly unrelated phenomena; both stand guard for us against chaos.
Being part of an agenda beyond ourselves liberates us to complement each other rather than compete with each other.
