For my everyday look, I don't like going anywhere without eye makeup.
You see those magazines, 'Oh, look at so-and-so without makeup, Halle Berry without makeup.' It's so crazy to wake up in the morning and have that thought - 'Do I need to put makeup on? Do I need to do something because I know people are going to know who I am?'
I don't feel comfortable without my makeup on. I've got to have my lipstick! I just don't feel like the same person, and I don't like the way I look without makeup.
I love strong looks, so to me, no makeup is strong. As long as it makes a statement, that's what I like. The girls look very real, and I'm probably the only makeup artist who will say that I love a woman without makeup.
I think for what success looks like for me, it is a world in which you can look at the achievement scores, the academic scores, of any school anywhere in this country [the USA], and you wouldn't be able to look at the score and determine what the racial makeup or the socioeconomic makeup of that school is simply because of the academic achievement levels.
My everyday look is just very natural, but I still like wearing a little bit of makeup.
I approach everyday personal beauty very naturally; I try to make it look like I'm not wearing makeup.
I remember taking my makeup off at a Saint Laurent shoot, and I was dragging it across my eye. The makeup artist was like, 'Don't do that to your skin! Don't pull it like that!' And I'm like, 'Really?'
I don't like to look at myself in the mirror, which is why my eye makeup is always crooked.
The human eye uses the eyebrow as an anchor point for the rest of the face. This is why a woman can look truly stunning without any makeup but perfectly shaped, full eyebrows.
For an everyday look, I use Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel as blush, or the Summer 2013 Bronzing Palette that a makeup artist from Armani gave to me - I love Armani makeup.
I have rosacea, so my cheeks always look like I have blush on. So I kind of already look like I'm wearing makeup, which is why I don't wear a lot of makeup.
I'm walking insecurity. Without all this makeup, I look like a refugee when I get up in the morning.... I generally look like one major bowwow. I mean arf.
I'm not a big eye makeup girl unless there's a professional doing it - otherwise I look like I have two black eyes!
If I wasn't an actress, I'd never wear make up. I liked being ready in half an hour and arrive on the sets. Even for a no-makeup look, if one has a dark under-eye on a particular day, a little makeup is used. I had no scope for that as well.
I've seen pictures of myself with makeup on, and I look like those women who look like they're wearing makeup so they can look young, and I don't think that's good. They have all these products now called - wait, what's it called, it's my favorite - youth suppressant, or age go away; they don't work.
My favorite would have to be concealer, which I don't think anyone can live without these days. I use the CK One concealer as well as their One color face makeup. It's brilliant. It's super natural, and it makes it look like you don't have any makeup on.
