I think vision is highly overrated today. I think what really blesses a ministry is, if you want the power of God in your life, its humility and integrity. A lot of people have vision just based on ego, but it's in that dependence upon God that we get His vision and develop more trust in Him.
One way to get very humble is to dedicate the work you're going to do to your community. And by community I mean that community you have a special vision for, that only you see, that no one else in a room sees. That special community in pain, that through a pain you've suffered, you're able to have that vision, that super-ray vision.
As an owner, you have a choice. Do you want to adopt a vision that you think is real sharp and real cutting edge and could get you from good to great - has a chance - or do you want to just say the organization is not about that, and we're not going to try to adopt a new coaching philosophy and vision.
