They're talking about sports, their wives and children. I just tell my students, don't talk about writing too much, just go out and do it. Find out whatever you need to get to the mainland.

The group is enthusiastic about making art, but it's also a good excuse to get together with friends and to enjoy each other's company and to catch up on what's going on with us. Our attitude to making music is carefree and we don't stress about it at all. If music or a particular feeling doesn't come out willingly, we'll force it out.
Sometimes you feel you're making something really special and when it comes out you might still feel that way but for some reason it doesn't get the audience. So many things have to come together to get a creatively successful and financially successful film.
Comedy people like other comedy people. People hang out and are friends and do shows together, and when you get something going like a TV show or a movie, you want your friends to be in it and make it funnier. That's just the way it should be.
