Enzo, my dad, supports Juventus, so that's my team and, obviously, Italy, who I've been fortunate enough to see win two World Cups.
I would say that Juventus is a myth not only in Italy, because it's the most loved team in Italy, but also around the world. And it has been in my family since birth.
With all due respect, but Juventus are not Real Madrid or the AC Milan of Ronaldinho's days. They can win games 6-2 or 5-2. Juventus are not like that. We have to win 1-0 or 2-0. It's in the club's DNA. That does not mean we will not try to win 3-0, but we are a team that cannot concede a goal when we are ahead.
Obviously, we were fortunate to win the hockey game, and we'll take it, because there have been some games that we haven't been fortunate enough in. I don't think we played exceptionally well from any standpoint, other than our first period. And our goaltender really stole the game for us. In all reality, you have to give him credit for the win. He stole the points.
Fifty years ago my Mother stood on this stage accepting this award; She was fortunate enough to have my Dad with her. Fifty years later, I'm fortunate enough to have my Dad with me. I love you, Dad.
But I think it's more normal for my team to have no success than it is to win two consecutive European cups.
I do feel the obligation and desire to win the Scudetto with Juventus, and obviously everybody wants to win the Champions League.
I've been with Team Canada for a lot of World Cups and World Championships, and to be part of an Olympic team would be a huge thrill for me.
Juventus in Italy are like Real Madrid in Spain, when you enter the team it feels different.
There's no reason why we can't win trophies at Stoke, we'll try and win some cups and do as well as we can, but I obviously have ambitions.
I was glad to see Italy win. All the guys on the team were Italians.
I've been fortunate enough to win titles; I've been unfortunate enough to get relegated as well.
I'm blessed that I'm not content. Whenever I work with kids, which I'm passionate about, I want them to know that, yes, two World Cups, two Asian Cups, but I've done it the hard way.
Buffon is fearless and has no obvious weaknesses. He has been outstanding for Juventus and was one of Italy's most important players at the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany, where they were victorious, but what is amazing is that he has been playing like that for years. He never seems to make a mistake.
I help my team win. That's overall what I do best. If you watch me play, I'm usually going to be on the winning team. Whether it's scoring enough points or rebounding enough or guarding the best player on the other team, I'm gonna do what it takes to win.
I have been fortunate enough to play in some big clubs all over the world and in some important games and win trophies.
Juventus have always had exceptional players. I've played against them and against Italy many times. They're a tough team with great quality.
