Most elite players want to maximize the length of the contract, no matter the money. — © Joey Votto
Most elite players want to maximize the length of the contract, no matter the money.
His four year contract renewal: As always, I remain hopeful that Don Cherry won't be offered the same length contract.
Everything is done by CONTRACT. It DOESN'T matter whether it's Civil or Criminal. There is NO LAW anymore because there is NO MONEY (Of substance) and since there is NO LAW and since there is NO MONEY everything is done by CONTRACT, it's AGREEMENT OF THE PARTIES. So remember, that theoretically anything that is done COMMERCIALLY in the CIVIL WORLD by any kind of “accounts”, its BASED ON A SIGNATURE.
A lot of players were going to Europe, but there were always stories of teams not being able to pay, and the players and girls were stuck with no money for airfare to come home. So I got a nice contract from Japan and decided to play there.
I want to maximize my potential as a player. I want to be as good as I could possibly be. And if I do that, I think I could be one of the best players out there.
The scary thing is that players have a one-upsmanship about money; they sign a contract and they like it until someone signs a bigger one and now they don't like it. I don't like that. I don't begrudge anyone money, but it disrupts the football team.
I'm not willing to sign a contract. They want everything. They want the rights to do the movie and everything else they can think of, forever. There's no limit to the contract. In this universe and universes to be discovered - I'm not making this up - this is in the contract.
Everybody wants to make as much money as possible. Take care of your family. It's not about the money; it's about status. I want to be ranked amongst all the players. I don't want to just have all this money. I want to be that guy.
I think the game will always be dependent on the players that are at its most elite level at that time.
I'm happy for the modern-day player who signs his contract and makes lots of money. The players of my era helped make that possible.
If I deserve a new contract, the contract will come. I'm not a selfish guy, I want the team to keep winning games, I don't go crazy about my contract.
Tennis is not a contract sport and we really rely on the WTA and ATP tours to be up and running so players can earn prize money to make a living.
This is where young players today want to land. They want to be NBA players because of the money.
All SEALS in my mind are equally elite. It doesn't matter if you're SEAL Team Two, One, Six, 10, it doesn't matter. All SEALS are equally elite.
I don't want to be one of those players that gets the contract and the main focus is on him.
Everybody can go out and buy fancy things and, while I don't have a problem with that, I do think players should earn the right to say 'I deserve this big contract and all this money'.
You have to realize WWE's contract. They're not getting paid from advertising money. USA makes that money. WWE gets paid by USA, they get paid a lot of money, and the money increases every year. Ratings aren't the most important thing to them.
